And is that because you're old?

I'm seriously considering the Annuity, I'm only 28 and being set for life is pretty enticing.

Although having more money than Romney, or even God, is appealing too.

Annuity usually makes more sense, for tax reasons. But, with that amount of money, it really doesn't matter.

Lump sum.

That way there's no chance the government will figure out a way to screw me out of more of it down the road somewhere. Because once I get it, it'll be well and truly spread around out of sight.

Lump sum certainly. I could get hit by a bus the day after I won the lottery. Would be nice for my wife to have the money for our kids later on. If you die while receiving annuity I am pretty sure that it all stops.

For most of the people who win the lottery, an annuity is the much better option. Because it makes it harder to spend it all in a binge.

For a responsible person, lump sum is probably better. But responsible people probably wouldn't be winning the lottery in the first place because they wouldn't be playing.
