He's not a high profile guy which makes him doubly awesome.

I wouldn't say he's unknown.
Remember my dad listened to him when I was a kid, I still listen to Tom Petty from time to time, going on 25 years now.
Great emotion in their songs.

I was a at a party once maybe 10 years ago and I asked the host if I could jump on his computer for a second to check some scores. He directed me to his study. The walls in there were lined with gold records with Tom Petty's name on them. Apparently he was the guy who discovered Tom Petty and produced most of his early albums.
