Are the US and EU going to start importing crude from Iran again anytime soon? Because until that happens there won't be lower gas prices IMHO.
Look back to the beginning of the year and the announcement by the EU that they were no longer going to buy Persian crude for the start of the steep climb in gas prices. (ETA: They haven't actually stopped as far as I know, IIRC there was a six month grace period on those sanctions, but the speculators took the news and ran with it)
