I'm mexican and I dont really care. Then again my dad was 100% mexican and my mom was 100% white (some form or another). And my dad while us kids were growing up would call us all sorts of mexican slurs so that when and if we heard them we wouldn't be offended. We could laugh and never loose a second of sleep over it. We dont really care at all. People act as if they had a choice in what race they were, and that theirs is more superior and all that, its complete idiocy. There is no superior race or anything. Its all within the person that holds the view.
So my answer would be no, it isn't. Its actually kinda funny. My dad used to call us taco bandits, curtain climbers, house apes, wetback, mojado and all sorts of names. We just grew up hearing it, so it was always funny. It lost its racist harmful intent on the receiving end.

Its all how one takes it. People can call me something with the most derogatory of intentions and it doesn't hold the weight as such, because I dont see it as such. So it doesn't bug me in the slightest. But then again thats me. Not everyone has my temperament or easy going nature. I can shrug it off with a laugh and walk on with my day and not be affected in the slightest.

yes it is.
though I call the salvadorians at work that all the time. not cause i'm racist, just cause they laugh since some of them actually DID swim across the rio grande to get here.
also because they call me mexican.
then i remind them that they aren't speaking mayan cause my people conquered them, so they are just jealous.
and we prefer the term "Board Overlords."

Racism is the belief that inherent different traits in human racial groups justify discrimination.
Since Hispanic or Latino isn't a race..how can this term be racist?
