He said it would be unprecedented for the SCOTUS to overturn a valid federal law. I guess he believes that or was lying. Take your pick.

He said it would be unprecedented to throw out this particulary law. Given, you know, what the precedent is. Funny how words work that way!
You can agree or disagree with that but his comments CLEARLY indicate he recognizes the judiciary has the power to declare laws unconstitutional.
I'm not surprised you're stuck on stupid, though.

You can type. You don't seem to be able to read though.
He's not saying it would be unprecedented to declare a law unconstitutional. He's saying he hopes they don't take the unprecedented step of declaring this law unconstitutional, which was passed by a strong majority blah blah blah.
Even aside from that, even if he actually had said "it would be unprecedented for the court to find a law unconstitutional," that still wouldn't be saying he doesn't think the court has the authority to do so. 
So you are basically wrong no matter how you look at it. Congratulations I guess. |
