Most fun I ever had in a video game.

Dread Lord Iceblight, 2nd highest player killer bounty on Drach. Ruler of North Brit Road. Master of a dozen thralls. Cooker of limbs. Taker of Castles. Owner of 20+ house keys. Collector of other people's loot.

Oh UO Hybrid would be my choice, it has a well set up system, very active community (think it is the biggest shard out there), good GM staff

I quit the game after the BIG notoriety patch. When my 3 year old character went from 5x GM down to 67 stats max, after his VERY FIRST DEATH AFTER THE PATCH, I logged off and never looked back. It was a few months after meditation and stealth were put in. Man I've got some amazing stories. I once spent months infiltrating a guild. My nemesis "Vile Silencer's" guild put up a Castle in my territory and from that castle threatened my entire domain. It was east of the north brit road, before the swamp, but they had 40+members so a dozen of them would be raping my people all day. It did make for some awesome battles and there was a great political game going on between myself and a few of Vile's higher up guildies. I ended up creating a character named "Vile Silencer" and over time, would log him in with his death robes knocking at the front gate of the castle. I outfitted each one of my character's lackies with keys, gathered intel on the guild's activities and alerted other PK groups of their plans, all the while pretending to be Vile! The night we stormed the castle was epic. The chance I had been waiting for for months arrived and I readied a dozen people around the front gate, all with keys, staged a pk attack out west, trapped the guild leader(key holder)by stealing his reagents and dropping locked chests around him while he was ALT Tabbed on ICQ. Murdered him to death before I returned on Iceblight and started changing locks. Their castle became useless. Every PK on the shard was given runestones/keys.... Shortly after that the rules for homes and castles changed and such epic thefts became impossible.

glory days!

Very awesome days for sure I played on Lake Superior. I stopped when I got into DAoC beta though and I was really just looking for an excuse to quit then

That sounds awesome. I was pretty young when uo was in its glory days sounds like it was a blast. I've only ever played free shards.

The game was amazing for it's time. I mean, you take an axe, double click it, target a tree and get wood. You kill a chicken and take it's feathers, use a dagger on your wood to make sticks, build a bow and make some arrows, kill stuff and craft leather armor, tailor for a few hours once you've gotten strong enough to use heavy bows and craft bolts for fun and profit till you can afford to stockpile regs for powerleveling magic enough for recall/heal, head off into the wilderness murdering everyone that looks weak enough to not fight back, take all their stuff and put it on and continue until you hit the lottery by catching some poor sucker with his house keys and a recall stone named "Home".

I'm kind of sorry that I missed the glory days of UO too, but I was too busy playing X-Wing vs Tie Fighter and Alpha testing Counter-Strike at the time before going that route full time once the game went gold.

I was pretty damn good at Counter-Strike though, so I don't regret it.

I have about 600 hours into TF2, so I'm happy to play that with anyone here.
