I got made a mod by Ulari the Horizon vault site manager after I told him in a PM that he needed a moderator because the boards where ****. there was no application no test, no nothing, just a "Damn it Ulari make me a moderator you need one." "okay let me do it real quick"
Horizon vault site back then was kicking, we where outposting the Dark age of Camelot Community board (outpost.) and the asherons call community board (what became ACF), we were number one or close to it. Hell VN was number one board wise across the internet for gaming. Then came the slow decline, we got bought we got sold snowball and whoever else, ign came in and told everyone strict rule enforcement.
I always felt I killed the Horizon boards following that edict. power corrupts and all.
Didn't help Horizons sucked without my friends playing and the game was a mess ( I really did like the game until my friends stopped playing then I wasn't having fun.) So I moved to Moderating the World of Warcraft community forum but it wasn't holding it's attention to me, went to mod ACF, for awhile it was good, but then I basically was alone when the other mods there got busy with life, and it got to me, had a slight meltdown stopped modding acf and came to the Outpost!
I was told to have a loose rein with the Outpost don't mod them as much, let the personal attacks slide. Gotta say you guys are awesome. Some of you have been posting almost as long as I have, some of you remember the original Vault Network boards.
You guys have been great, I hope to see most of you on the IGN side, looks like I'm going to be moderating the IGN board. over 10 years volunteering as a moderator. crazy. It's been fun!
