Korben Backshot, Aluv spec Arcane/Dagger/Melee D/Magic D. Trying to run him without using buffbots or anything like that (tho I am buying level 4 buffs sometimes from the healer in Sanamar).
The starter towns are awesome. They should have designed them like this from the get go.
The Pathwarden armor is awesome. The Explorer quests are great as are the rewards (Biting Strike kicks ass).
I think I've done every quest out of the Book of Quests For New Explorers now plus Dagger of Tikola, Gumshoe, Elysa's Bangle (that was crazy hard for one guy, this I finally used a buffbot for), every starter quest in Sanamar, Viamontian Torture Chamber and have hooks for about 7 or 8 more quests. Even finally tried fishing.
Randomly found a tusker shrine and got a couple tusks and more importantly some recall gems.

Done a few n00b type things. While checking out the advocates statue outside Zaikhal I continued along the hill to look at an odd building with some Viamontians standing outside. Failed to realize until it was too late that they were not town npc's. Hello lifestone!
Not that that incident made me biased but in general Viamontians seem like real douche bags. Made raiding the torture chamber fun.

To anyone thinking about coming back or starting new, I give it two big thumbs up. Game is better than it has ever been.

Funny you should say that! I have my characters gathering dust somewhere, if I can remember the login information. I am tempted to try a trial if they still offer it for a week(?) just to see how things have changed. It's probably been a good year or so since I'd posted anything here, or at least it feels like it. When I left the game, my college's IT department made the decision for me, because they felt the ports that AC uses contribute to Peer-2-Peer piracy (lol).

I've been playing World of Warcraft since the spring of 2005 with a few people that used to play Asheron's Call, and even this server... (Dark Watcher and his brother, if any of you remember him...) It's been a good run, and within another couple of months it'll take the title away from AC as my most-played game. (I helped beta test AC back in June of 1999).

I don't know what I was doing, but I was walking along the street and somehow I just had a vision of running from Qalaba'r into the southern direlands via the land bridge pop in my head. Unfortunately, I didn't see any purple portals to jump into.

I'll keep an eye on the Turbine site for any offers they may do - even if I had to start a new account to get a week or two free and tinker around a bit - but I will be honest and say that I don't think anything can break my grip on WoW except for, possibly, a Diablo-based MMORPG or even Diablo 3.

Thanks for the post and for jogging some great memories! Nice to see a familiar face and that the game is still rolling along. Surprised they haven't consolidated servers down yet, to be honest. The game celebrates it's 10 year anniversary (in retail) this November, I think. November 3rd if I'm not mistaken? I still remember the trip I took to the mall to buy the game, I was beaming as I ran out of the EB Games, bag in hand.

Anyone seen Peerless, Tasia, Odin, Fit to Fight, or Nazrath?

I'm going to do the trial offer pretty soon, I'm in the middle of some important world events in WoW right now (Brewfest) to unlock the fastest flying mount available in the game via achievement system, but once that's done, I'll probably screw around a bit with a new guy.

Sry Noct, I haven't played in a year +. Although I would like to come back for a couple weeks, I just don't have the time right now as I am finishing up my MBA and working full time :/. When I left the economy was in ruins (not enough people trading), macros still getting banned even in random never entered dungeons, and no one to even practice pvp with. I really do not see what would make me want to stay if I did return so I am not going to go through the process of starting again only to play a week.

Good to see your still around though.
