I think I make far more use of the reptilian hindbrain and the midbrain than most people do when it comes to music appreciation. Honestly, I often don't even 'hear' the lyrics unless I make an effort to, or unless the song is so crappy by those standards that a pulse is sent to the forebrain which (decoded into comprehensible English) would translate to "What the hell is wrong with this song?! It sucks!" Then the forebrain starts evaluating, and the lyrics are part of that.
