I'd say yes for the same reason I advocate the nurturing of the battlegrounds: allow character development outside of NF to get people to NF. DAOC is an old game at this point with many RR10+ running around in NF. Does DAOC need new players? Yes. What happens when brand new noob to DAOC players level to 50 even after getting RR3 in Molvik? Only option for them is to go to NF and face many "professional" teams of PvP players with RR10+ toys to play with that makes a new players chances of ever killing something what? Slim to none.

The environment in NF today is brutal for any new player, which makes for high attrition rates of new players= not good for business=not good for an MMO. MMO stands for what? MASSIVE multiplayer, but what happens when the masses aren't having fun in your game so they subscribe somewhere else? You get what we have today, a stagnant/declining player base of players who eat "new subscibers" for breakfast/lunch/dinner while emoting them while they /cancel their subscriptions to DAOC. Flame away if you want, the numbers tell the story...

RR isn't the only problem new players will have in DAoC.

If we're talking new new players (and not just returning veterans, they will lack:
- Gear. New players don't know any crafters and/or simply lack the cash to be able to afford a temp. If you stick to the gear PvE supplies you with, you will be able to PvE well enough, but you'll get steamrolled in RvR. And after so many years, there's a huge gear requirement in this game. Or general knowledge of where to get what.
- A bot account. Seriously, try and explain to someone that they need 2+ accounts just to play one toon in this day and age.

DAoC is very newbie-unfriendly as is. RR is the least of a newbie's worries, since that will only matter as you reach 50. But in the lower tier BGs, gear and buffs already make a huge difference between the vet and the newbie.

That being said, I fully suport opening CV for 50s to get them to RR5 in a less hostile environment.

I really wish they would add level appropriate buffing NPCs to the BGs and to the Labyrinth.

Leaving it opened constantly would have bad repercussions on the other RvR Zones. I'd be up for having it opened every now and then though.

I went to CV on Saturday a few times and quickly got tired of it. Yesterday I spent all my time in Odin's Gate. There was no shortage of Alb vs Mid action going on there. Ywain has the population to support having CV open to level 50s full time. I'd suggest leaving the RR cap at 4L9 and copying and pasting in the NF buff NPC though.

/agree with Meddyck. Level 50's but with 4L9 cap.

\Agree!!

Excellent ideal, but this is Mythic and they lack the resources, manpower, and motivation to do it.

Cheesehammer: Age of the Regen Train, good luck killing it.
Somewhere "south" of $100million to develop, and now subscriptions are somewhere south of 100k, gotta love the irony.

I have no idea what Mythic was thinking but why did they take the highest level BG that's supposed to be one step away from NF and make it with no bridges, no CK, and generally nothing else that resembles any of the other battlegrounds or NF?

If its a BG, then give it a central keep, not one so far out of the way of any action that nobody goes there. If its supposed to be like OF or NF then put some NF like keeps in it, not some structure built into the side of a mountain out of the way somewhere.

DAOC is an old game now and new players are not going to want to fight all the RR10+ people in NF and Lab. Something needs to be done to give NEW players the chance to warm up to the game before going out an experiencing the insta death (for new players) that is now NF and Lab.

One of the reasons the game is not growing is that too many players and Mythic kill the chickens (new players) before they even hatch from the egg. All we hear from players in NF is "feed them into NF" and Mythic has done exactly that. Well....we've had years now to see how that has worked out for the game.
