OK so I caved, came back for a look.

1) I still have my configs from 5 years ago, which I pasted into the newly downloaded game folder and they worked fine on my archived server, however, when I /freexfer'd across I lost all my quickbars. Any clues as to how I get them back?

2) What's a good UI these days? I used to use Derida but even then it was already not being updated anymore.

3) I quit before LotM, hence have no mythrians or anything since. Am I missing a lot? Is it practical to catch up or will it take me the whole 2 weeks?

4) I see NPC buffers. I have a buffbot account that probably also has 14 days waiting, but would have to dual log since I no longer have a second PC. Should I bother with the bot?

I'm sure I'll have more questions later.

/who BG doesn't show anyone. How are NF activities arranged these days? Or did I just happen to be on during a time of no BG or anon leader?

4) NPC gives +130 to stats, buffbot +155 .. if you run with other people, you will have buffbot buffs anyway.. if you solo.. it all depends on the class.. but then.. soloing is hard with the RP hungry crowd out there.. don't expect to get a free pass from the 4 man, 8 man, 16 man, 50 man or 200 man that passes you by.

I've got CL5 from before I quit. Might have a look at mythrians to see if they're worth the hassle.

Soloing on a visi was dead even before I left. But the real reason I left was that you couldn't even get a pug anymore. I tried to get into a proper 8-man group but my timezone (NZ) meant that there were few options and none willing to take on a mere RR6L6 Light eldy. >_<

I'm fine doing some pugging or zerg-surfing. The extent of the soloing I would expect to do is camping keeps. That's pretty much what I did before I left, farm Galroth's horde of mentally-challenged relic raiders off-peak.

NZ timezone you can expect to see more euro players.

Yeah but this was in 2005, before the Great Consolidation. I was on PerciMueVere aka tintagel (never liked that name) so not many euro players.

edit: Wah, I just saw that mythrians require CL6 to 10. Guess I won't bother.

And what about NF BGs? I couldn't see one last night. Do they still exist or do people just use region chat?

I've heard the PUG situation on Hib is somewhat difficult.. they are the least popular realm atm.. think corlina / phungie tried the BG leadership thingie for a while, but not sure if that's still going on.

Population atm is Midgard > Albion > Hibernia at least during EU primetime / CET timezone, US primetime may well be different.. Albion does have daily zergs since there's at least 2 frequent zerg leaders (Kzar / Rescu), with some other people that tend to create BGs every now and then... Not sure about zerg leaders on Midgard.. but during EU primetime there's at least a couple of mid groups that like to take towers/keeps to break every port imaginable in Albion (which sort of kills the action, since many people either logoff or go play in the BGs when that happens)

Since no one answered your original #1, the reason is because there is a number attached to each character and this is for a server.


when you switched to Ywain, you switched to a new number. If you take some time and look at it, you can figure it out and manually switch all your toons in your saved configs to the new number, and then paste those over the ones that Mythic just created for you when you did the /transfer.


There was a program that did it for you, but it has been a while, and I forget the name of it. I never used it anyway, I just did it one at a time manually.

Bobsui doesn't look like it's current?

Bob's UI is current. Nothing new to game has happened since August 2010 that would affect the UI from working. He updates it when there are problems/patch issues.
