Well I saw in a post that some guy claimed OF was active, I doubted him, thinking it was a F*** *****. I did some work, got passed the wall at the border keeps which I have not done in ages. When I did this before the zone was empty, no NPC monsters or keep guards and only the first zone outside the border keep was active you could not go any further.


This time I got by and was expecting the same, I started off from Castle Sauvage and there was mobs in the forest and on the path... Got to the relic keep and there are guards there but they con no higher then blue to orange and aggressive.


I worked my way through the frontiers, I stopped at a few keeps and there were no guards and you could not get into the keeps. I went to the mid portal keep in Hadrians, the teleporter was on the pad but would not port me any where or even pop up the normal window. In the old spot was the teleporter necklace merchant, I bought a Mid necklace, put it on and right clicked him and sure enough it took me to the old Svasud Faste location. I ran down to the Midgard relic keep and again there were blue to orange con guards though this time I got to close and aggro'd tons of them. Before I died at the front relic gate was a purple con thing called WARD OF PROTECTION.


I went back just exploring and noticed all the mobs are UP, the old POC locations if you try to enter take you back to main land mid outside the border keeps on the non-frontier side.


Very cool seeing this, brought back good memories etc...


I recordred this and can post a lame video of me running around but It would be a few GB in size but you can then read the text to see this is a live server.


A few questions come to mind:


1) Why are these zones still active? Was it a mistake that got sent though the patcher... Though mobs are controlled server side?

2) This has to be causing extra server load...

3) Why not let us play out there? (Dumb question, it would require at the least disabling NF and enableing the keeps in OF)

4) Many other questions can/could/should be asked but I bet Mythic ignores this all together...


This was on Mordred not Ywain.. The other poster has SS's of YWAIN and I gurantee it is all legit...


Very strange IMO but it is very playable minus the keeps...

This again? People have been posting about secret trips to OF on Pendragon and live servers for the past several years. An Origins server isn't happening. Get over it already. Mythic just doesn't have any programmers competent enough to remove the half-finished OF from the game at this point, so they've left it in there to get the gullible excited every few months.

As said above, this is OLD news, you can get passed the guards if you side step it right, some mobs are out there, keeps are not finished with porters in and out and such.

I think the guild moved over with the Ywain cluster creation, thus allowing her to stay in that guild. All new characters are put into the new starter guild. Note the custom UI, doubt it existed back then.

OF has always existed if you were able to get past the border keeps. Only recently have Pennine/Jamtland/Breifine and Odins/Hadrians/Emain been re-enabled, but I bet that was due to some programmer changing the wrong variable by accident. Even if OF is active, you can't PvP in it because you have to teleport to the other realm's homeworld to do so. The Ligen/Svasud/Sauvage porter doesn't exactly keep Medallions of Transport in stock anymore. They also quit doing that whole "portal ceremony" business that used to actually let you get TO the other realms. The only way I know of to get to the other realms' OF's is a quest in OF Cruachan that isn't able to be activated by a 50. It teleports you upon completion to either Uppland or Forest Sauvage. It's a really short quest, that doesn't really qualify as a "quest", more of a quick task that involves running back and forth a few times, sort of like a quick version of the Malice's Axe encounter. It can be done by a 24 (maybe higher, I've never bothered to find out), so I guess you could have a Hib vs Alb or Hib vs Mid Thid party if you wanted to. That said, I don't know if there's a similar quest in Mid/Alb to teleport to Hib (or the 3rd realm).

Yeah teleport necks wouldn't work on Ywain but on Gaheris/Mordred you can port around for fun

The best part about of was the Terrain plain and simple. So many cool valleys, open fields, gorges, mountians, etc. It is not purely symmetrical like NF. Also each realm's skybox (sun, moon, lighting) were unique to its own and different unline NF. Also there were ambient tracks unique to each zone unlike NF's ambient repeating toa sounding drumloop which i've had turned off for years.


Where is this quest you get in gorge that teleports you to the other zone's OF? I would like to try it.
