Back in August I was thinking about getting back into DAOC. Last I played was just a little bit after TOA. Im getting out of the Military and want a game to play to keep me entertained while I sit here and wait for orders. As i said i looked into DAOC but just doesnt see the reason i should pay for what looks like a dieing game.. Please dont bark at me but from all the forums i have read, the outcome is all the same.... The Game is Dieing. ANYWAYS i started playing WOW and hate it, waste of money in my mind. I paid almost 60 dollors for the game and 14dollars a month to play by myself. The people are rude, dont care about anything but what they want to do and how they want it. So i guess where im going with this...
Is is worth it to come back, will there be some sort of friendly community and people to PvE, or PvP with? AND if so.. how much is it these days with all the expansions and ect.. Thanks for your time to whomever spares it!

I cannot figure out why people ask this question.
Is it worth you coming back?

Dude! Spend the 14 bucks and find out, if it ain't what you want, cancel.
It's only 14 bucks sheesh come back and try it.

a lot of what you ask is subjective. there are lots of friendly players in daoc. will you meet them though? hope so. the playerbase is pretty healthy now that they have combined most of the servers together- i'd say 1,000 per realm is on at prime time. best is to try and get into a big guild asap and make some friends. generally you'll feel much more sense of community in a big guild and/or alliance. you should be able to try the game for free with a 14 day free trial, and you can download the latest expansion (which includes all the others in it) for free on the offical camelot site. so you really have nothing to lose here except some time.

hope to see you on the battlefield soon! be it on my side or an enemy.

I agree.

Perhaps Munk03SF does not realize that the game is free to download and install. The game itself does not need to be purchased and all old accounts have been upgraded to LotM. Just download/install, pay the monthly fee and play.

Also, most old accounts have a “Come back to Camelot” free 10 days available to them. Just go to the account management page and try to activate the "come back offer" to see if you qualify. (Download, install and patch the game before activating your free 10 days. Also, your Master Account name and login are your old DAoC account name and password)

Munk03SF, your old account should still exist and all the old toons should be there. Just log into the old archived servers and transfer your toons over to Ywain. Because there are 10 Ywain servers in the cluster players can transfer up to 100 old toons over to Ywain.

For info about transferring old toons to Ywain see the Herald Archived Server Transfers info page.

Noone but YOU can tell if you should come back - if you are even considering it then you must have the $14 so just spend it and play for yourself. Really it's not hard, Hell I came back, so if I can do it ANYONE can. I swore countless times I would not return yet I did.
