each of these is a good idea. Would love to see these all implemented.
I'm not a programer,but isn't each of these sugg's rather simple in the fact new code wouldn't have to be written,but just value's changed??
Boat speed value changed.
Df don't close right away when another realm takes it,just change it to 24 hours.
Bg buffers may take time,BUT THERE NEEDED BAD...
Buff pots same,just change how long they last,not sure about champ buffs...
Andy popped in once the other day,I rarely expect a comment from him,
BUT it would be nice to get an opinion from him on this sugg...
I am a programmer, and i have seen the underlying DAoC C# code from the DOL, i even run my own server on my PC to test things out. The code is a piecemill of changes, change 1 thing and it can easily screw other things up, as we all have seen from BAD patch days.
it is amazing seeing the complex code, you learn to appreciate the game

I don't care about #2, but I'm on board for the rest of that. Those also have the advantage of being changes that are probably doable with the skeleton crew that is DAOC's current dev team unlike the OP's ideas.

I do like the changes suggested in the responses above. Really good ideas.
For me the most important thing Mythic could do is increase the level cap to 50. The reason is that by increasing the level cap ML's and Artis would have a reduced impact on the game. Templates would also become obsolete and we would have to redesign them for our toons. It would just open up many more possibilities.

hey, anyone thought about a 5 realm game? I think this would actually be awesome. Obviously 3 is way better than 2, and having 5 different factions might cause complications with some of them being empty, but I think 5 totally different and unique realms would add a lot of realm pride to a game focused on RvR. Just a thought...

that would be interesting to see how a game with that many fractions would pan out. although with that many fractions having some alliances, even unoffical, may occur. but i'd be interested to see it in action.

4 would be perfect.
4th realm could had been something to do with Greece.

Mythics servers are not coded in C# , Mythics servers run in linux.
DOL is a pirate, reverse engineered server coded in C#, and runs on windows..
DOL and Mythic servers are nothing like each other on a code level...
