Hey guys so I just decided to try dark age after a 6 or so year break. My toons were all specced pretty well back in the day and my armor was all MP gear I crafted myself and spellcrafted to max pretty much all my stats. But after taking a few quick runs out in the frontier I find I am doing like no damage. Fully buffed with lvl50 buffbot and My critical shot with ranger is doing around 300(-100) damage?? Same shot would do between double and triple damage before! I feel like im 10 levels below anyone else out there!! I'm just wondering what kind of gear everyone is rocking? When I left everyone was rocking spellcrafted gear with max utilities, but I take it things are not the same now? Should I be doing some set of quests for gear? Are there just some insane drops out there now??


I also used to check a website almost religously that showed what realm had which keeps in the frontier, and tracked all the rvr action like top realm points per class, realm, etc. Also had top guilds and all sorts of cool RvR info. I thought it was the Herald, but cant seem to find what Im looking for there.... Anyone have a link and any idea what site I'm talking about??

Ranger...you most likely still have quick caped in your temp, however they changed that from quickness to dex to make damage on bow. So if you change your temp a bit you should be able to deal something arround 500-600 dmg.

6 years? wow you have to retemp all of your items to meet todays standards! you prob still have fools bow, Ehhhh that is out now, need ml10 bow, champ bow or galvorne's(go galv). DragonSlayer armor and epic are good armor starts, do the epic quests and get the armor, easy! But later you will need to upgrade that armor as well, alot of things to consider now, ML's and Artis can be bought with bp's and or glass!

Also the Archery system was completely re worked, it takes a few dozen kills to get it down, but you will be OK, spec 50 bow and you be fine!

Epic armor??? We talkin the same epic armor from like 6 years back in the old frontiers??? Like the one the mentalist trainer in TNN still wears?? Hehe prob still got that in my vault if we both on the same page lol.


And 50 bow now??? For real?? I never had bow that high before!

You could say that; not in the same book is probably a better description.

I said Epic armor because in the last year the EPIC armor was Severely upgraded with TOA stats, pretty nice pieces to fit into gaps on your temp!


and Yes 50 Bow, with the new archery system, it can add 100-200 extra dmg on crits! RA System was JUST expanded 2 weeks ago as well, more lvls added for more incremental specs to be made!

Most Rangers go 50 bow now because unlike the old archery system it makes a big difference in damage plus the fact that Rangers got nerfed into the dirt a few years ago melee and defense wise.
CD was nerfed to not halve evade and block, so you lose out big time vs. Infs, SB's and Scouts, some of your most common opponents. PD was removed from all archers but Rangers don't have shield spec or a dog to make up for it. Their remaining unique abilities were given to the other archers as well. But they got a mediocre root style at 42 CD in return. The do have a good RR5 though, maybe not the best but better than a lot of the others.

Damn rangers are nerfed that bad huh?? So what your saying is I should put the ranger on the shelf and bust out the shade?? How are shades stacked now a days?

Shades are retardedly powerful. Hit it while it's hot.
