So a couple of weeks ago my GF and I were looking for something new to play. She'd never played DAoC so we came back to check it out...I reupped my 4 accounts and she started two of her own with the trial.
We've had a ton of fun and planned to stay, but now our 14 days is up and they are telling us we can't subscribe to more than one account at a time over a 24 hour period....we've been boxing to level so this totally blows that whole deal....This weekend was going to be the big exp push. We aren't waiting till tuesday to play our toons when we have all weekend to game, so we are going to go find something else to play.
If anyone from Mythic reads these boards and sees this....We will be happy to come back and pay to play your game. We were having loads of fun and planned to stay for a while, but you are going to have to fix this deal with the subscription limits first. Not putting up with this absurdity, especially in this economy, especially with a 10 year old game. Not going to beg to throw someone 90 bucks a month in subscription fees, regardless.
There are 25 people still playing this game and you are turning subscribers away. Think, McFly.

you can buy gamecards from the EA store and use those. I don't know about the problem though. Sorry

They had credit card problems so I think they are on some sort of probationary deal. I'm thinking the reason that they can't or don't charge the same card multiple times is because they had a huge fiasco where people's CCs were charged a multitude of times. It is a bit odd. If you don't like the game enough to weather it, then you are better off leaving anyway.
(Maybe they aren't on a probationary deal with the CC company, but it is a way for them to prevent overdrafting a ton of people's bank accounts. Not sure what the deal is.)

they arent turning anyone away...
your just well.... i'd get moderated for personal attacks if i continued that...
anyways... why is it so hard to just stagger billing? ... instead of paying for all accounts all in one day.. pay for 2, then wait 2 days, pay for 2... so on and so forth....
is that seriously so difficult????

Pay for one account on credit card, go do something else for a day then pay other account on same credit card.
Simple.

3 things:
1) Mythic had some pretty big issues with billing a bit ago, that cost people some serious money and issues for a while. While some people made it out clear or even gained (Due to the card I use to pay this game being linked to my bank account, I made like 15-16 bucks when all way said and done), the majority of people got screwed big time. Because of those issues, Mythic can't afford another screw up... that's why billing is very limited (Also, Account management for the past while has been a bit of a pain to deal with).
2) You should have thought about starting accounts throughout your game play.
I mean, if you were serious about playing this game, you should have at least subbed your girlfriends main account and your own within the first 10 days of your free play. Also, your old accounts should have gotten the 10 days of free played based on them being inactive. Which means you should have lost the ability to play 4 days before she did. By then you should have noticed to 1 acnt/day deal, and activated 2 of yours before her free play was even up.
3) If little things like this detour you from playing DAoC; then I don't think you were really a fan anyway.

LOL. Some of these responses are hilarious. Especially from the mod above. Some of us need to pull our heads out offanboi land and get a whif of reality.
No, I'm not playing one account while waiting to subscribe to the others. No, I shouldn't have foreseen problems with rubbing, because I simply came back and *gasp* and want to subscribe *gasp* all at once. Just the fact that any of you guys don't see turning away paying customers as a bad idea in a 10th year old game is just.....well you just keep drinking the kool aide. Hey, let's all go find a game that won't lest us subscribe to play for a month! Lol
Mythic billing problems fall under "not my problem." Sorry, but we set up our toons to be levelled together. I don't care what game it is or how much I love it. I'm simply not going to jump thru little hoops to give a company my entertainment dollar, because i simply shouldnt have to.
Wanna hear something ironic? We were looking at older games to play because one of our boxes couldnt run newer games. During our 2 weeks in Daoc, despite the mind-numbingly dull pve, we had so much fun boxing that I got the parts for a new one so we could run more toons. Now, we can play newer games. I wonder if we will have problems subscribing to RIFT when out trials are up? I'm going to go out on a limb and take a wild guess that normal companies actually want subscriptions.
Have fun

Mythic never reimbursed me for the >$500 in charges. I had cancelled war already and still got charged. You are right, Mythic doesn't deserve our money.
