The point of this thread is not to fix ywain. The only people who want to play ywain or care about ywain's success already play ywain. The point of this thread is a suggestion for how to get some population back in the game. Fixing ywain won't do that. If you are worried about splitting the population by adding a new server type then that makes it pretty obvious that ywain isn't really getting the job done for people.
I don't play ywain. I tried. It sucked. I won't go back. I'm not alone in this opinion. If you want to keep your heads buried deep inside Mark Jacob's bum then that's your business. The rest of us want our game back.
You are so dead wrong it makes me want to beat you with a stick. Your method IS what Mythic has done since day 1 and it has been proven to fail time and time again.
Instead/rather than fixing anything that the existing (read: PAYING) crap customers are putting up with the SOP has been to create *something* new or *add* some *extra* crap and it DOESN'T WORK! If you've quit ywain opening a new server won't bring you back just like when people quit TOA classic didn't bring them back all it did was fracture the community and force everyone to get clustered even Mordred and Gaheris fit this same tried and stupid MO of adding more and fragmenting further and fixing NOTHING.
If people were having a bunch of fun on ywain if the game environment was more fun and more enticing you'd be playing. But you should be back of the bus in getting fixes because YOU DON'T PLAY. They should be addressing the complaints that are causing grief for still playing customers before those people get fed up and leave too. It's very likely that you were annoyed or somehow unhappy with the exact same things but that those players threshold for "pain" is a little higher and so if they fix those things it keeps the existing players and then the next time you give it a try and find 1 less annoyance it might be under the "pain" threshold and you'd stick around.
Amazingly enough, people still try this game. You can find them in pve if you look around but the game environment is so toxic that they quickly quit. The focus should be on building a strong and steady base that have some organic (word of mouth) growth. When your guild is irrelevant, when alliances don't matter, when everyone is twinked to hell and back and farmers and powerlevelers rule the pve land and RvR is reduced to rp farming and a feeling of winners having the most cheese setup(imbalance) or rely heavily on questionable mechanics (quasi-exploits) it's not a fun game and nobody is gonna stick around.
