Am I missing something? The faq says to hit the cancel account button ...

Your account is active but your subscription is not. On 12/16/2011, your account will close. Those with recurring subscriptions have 2 lines.

Like this:

DAOC 1 Month Subscription 8/3/11 9/3/11 N/A N/A
DAOC 1 Month Subscription 9/3/11 Credit Card $14.95

The first line shows your current subscription. The second line shows your next billing date. If you have no 2nd line, your account will close.

It's already cancelled. You do not have autorenew active, so your accounts will close at the end of your current subscription on 21st September and 16th December.


If you did, there would be a 'cancel' button listed below your subscriptions, and, as Cyrric said a second subscription would be listed under your current one.

While I do not think that Mythic people should be jailed for their actions, I understand angryranger’s overstatement to emphasize the anger that many players have toward Mythic.


Many, many, many posts have come on these boards where players have posted confusion about the cancel button. It is a very simple thing for Mythic to change the page a tiny bit so as to make things very clear concerning if an account is recognized by Mythic as canceled, yet Mythic stubbornly refuses.


Some may think it is simply the players being silly but that is myopic to the different personality types and it ignores the past billing problems where some players had bank accounts emptied and could rightfully be a bit gun shy. It is completely reasonable that some players could need things on the account management page listed with a bit more clarity.


Considering how easy it is for Mythic to add a bit more clarity to the account management page it is typical self-destructive Mythic to decide to take a stand and absolutely refuse to correct a confusing page.


It is similar to the 9 years of the old Herald where the housing page drove noobs crazy as they tried to figure out how to get empty lot listings or where the link to the free trial was a teeny tiny /DAoC/ at the very top of the page when it would have been very easy to have a huge link that obviously said “FREE TRIAL” or the hundreds of other things where Mythic decided to create conflict/confusion instead of doing what they should.

and mythic has had some horrible website designs..

but the camelot herald, was a place for active subscribers to get more information, most people who would have been interested in free trials, would have found there way to darkageofcamelot.com not the camelot herald...

how do they intentionally mislead people into resubbing?

if theres no cancel button, your canceled, how does that mislead someone into resubbing?

what they go, i wanna cancel, but theres no cancel button, maybe i should hit the subscribe button even though thats entirely not what i want, but lets give it a try?
