Be Nice to Me I'm a Bot

A few years ago, my husband and I went on vacation. I called home to check on everyone. When my son answered the phone and I asked him what he was doing, he informed me he was redecorating my house, but he wouldn't give me any specifics. I thought, well this will be a nice surprise. I'll get home and the bathroom will finally be painted like I've been asking, or they'll finish putting up my fence. A week later, we returned home. The house was nice and clean, and decorated with balloons and flowers, but no major redecorating. It was nice, but not exactly what I was expecting.

I logged in to vent and game a bit later. I was asked if I could play my druid. I found her parked in the midst of Galladoria. She died a quick and painless death. I released house and quickly found the redecorating my son was talking about. It seems that he and a few guildies from the Redheaded Stepchildren decided to have some fun. Everything in my house had been removed and replaced with Winged Terror trophies and Orey-Eyed Oghamist heads. They were everywhere, and placed strategically so that once I ported in to the house, I'd get stuck in different spots. All of my furniture and decorations had been lifted and was in my vaults, which I had to find. They were giving me hints in vent by having me log in to different characters. Everyone was left in different areas in various forms of dress. My enchanter was left in the middle of Stygia, her gear and armor was in her horse packs. My blademaster was left in NF in a keep we occupied in Midgard, her gear and armor gone, and she was carrying my vaults on her horse. Didn't take long for her to get back home! When I finally got everything back in place the way it should be, I found her gear and armor in the personal vault. It did end up taking me a few hours to put everything back the way it was, but it was one of the funniest moments in game and in vent.

Thank you Destinyshreaks, Provoker, and Getthemoffme for the fun and laughs! It really was a great prank!

So has anyone in game played a practical joke like this on you? Topic of the Week would love to hear about it!

Hey, I'm looking for some topic ideas. If you have any you'd like to see posted, please drop me a line!

The account wasn't exactly shared. My son logged in and played my chars. The guildies helped him farm the mobs and make all the trophy's.

Way back on prydwen (like 9 years ago) I log in one day and find 2 guildies playing out a scene from Cheers at the bar inside my house

Not really a practical joke, but the funniest thing I've ever see was when I left my long time guild in Mid. I was guildies with a bunch of people for a long time, however we had come to a difference in play that had the guild master (a long time friend) pretty upset with me. So I had pulled out of my guild and put my characters in my other friends guild.

A few days later I port into my house (If anyone has ever been to Davolica's house, there are scarecrows all making a fence around my house; and of course some pumpkins) and there are three of my ex-guildies, including my old GM that were standing on the same pumpkin patch jumping up and down (Also all three were dwarves, which made me LoL). I thought "damn kids!" but they weren't doing it for the LoLs, I think they were just talking out there and jumping for something to do.

My friend and I had a running joke about how few people actually read the patch notes on or before patch day and we came up with a plan to prove that very few people actually read them.

The night /qtd was put in the game I logged in and joined the RvR chat group. I typed in "ou got to check out this /qtd emote. It's hilarious." The patch notes made it clear that /qtd would log your account out directly to desktop, but we were betting most people didn't read the notes. Almost immediately more than half the people in the chat group bombed out of the game and the spam of "<so and so> has left the chat group" was pages long. Those that didn't bomb out were pretty much summarily slaughtered by enemies as their groups disintegrated. I'm one of the few who can say I owned my own realm in RvR.

As I have run stealthers for Many years. One of the favorite stealth jokes, and kind of a hazing for new stealthers is to tell them we are Sprinting in stealth when they ask why they cant keep up. We keep this gag going as long as we can before relieving some of us have high level MoS.

One case in particular we had a guildie convinced, and trying to figure out how to, sprint in stealth for 4 days. We gave him every possible combination of things we could come up with to keep him on his toes. Told him to press UP,UP,Down,Down,Left,Right,Left,Right,A,B,esc,~, THEN stealth and he would move faster. For a few min we had him convinced this worked by stutter stepping so he could keep up. It wasnt till a fight started and we all took off like we just robed a bank that he realized it wasn't working. After 3-4 days we finally let him in on it. He was a good sport about it in the end a good laugh was had by all.

/MO is another good one. Somone got my kid brother one night half way past agramon. They yelled that /MO makes the boat Move faster. My brother ( having played the game for a few years) figures WTF not give it a try, Drops off the boat and DOESN'T SAY A WORD. No one realized till the drop point that my brother had jumped mid way down agramon coast and was now swimming to Hib coast drop-off. To this day my brother tries to get some redemption and get others to /MO on boat rides.

One of my favorites was going on ML raids waiting for people to port in at the djinn stone and asking in /say where a certain step was for another ML.
