Nerf absorb on pets |
Aww shucks you died to someone so that means they must get nerfed? If anyone actually dies to a Necro 1v1 they should look on the other side of the keyboard for the problem. Sure you might not beat them every time, but my f'n god kite them or run away from them. They can't keep up you know right?
Only straight melee toons will have a problem with Necro's. Anything with shears or ranged dps will kill them almost every time.

I do agree to an extent that the abs on pets makes it very difficult for melee to kill pets. Casters can kill them in a few nukes, while melee can take probably 20-30 swings to kill a fully buffed pet (necro or minst pet).
Maybe that is balance though. At least in today's game.

It'd be fair to nerf pet absorb a bit. Just cap the AF from buffs like it does on level 50 players. FIXED!
ML9/Red minstrel pets would still do good damage, and Necro's would still have pretty solid absorb, and shit pathing.

Umm you know something? If you are running from the pet the Necro shade has to chase you too. Guess what happens when a Necro Shade is chasing you? Oh he can't cast because he is moving. If you die to a necro pet from just melee attacks maybe invest in a better template.
Maybe it is time for you do start a "How do you kill Necros" thread.

You can't really kite away from pets anymore. When Mythic made it so pets sprint when the owner sprints (mainly so Necro pets can keep up with owners and boats) pets now warp around. Once the pet leaves combat (5-10s) they will be on top of you in a flash if the owner is sprinting.
And a necro could watch his pet kill a melee class with just melee attacks and keeping the HoT on the pet every once in a while. Melee toons won't be able to kite a necro pet. And even through shears a necro can still do full magic damage. Necros can beat most everything 1v1. At least the good Necros can.

I know this. And Necro's can beat maybe a handful of classes 1v1 if they have 1/2 a clue.
Just because the pet keeps up with you surely doesn't mean that you can't kite the pet along with you to a keep or tower. Just because you might not be able to kill the Necro doesn't mean you have to be a tard and let the thing kill you.
Casters, Archers, Assassins (with ML10 cloak), and some Hybrids should have no problem at all against Necro's.

Correct about not letting the necro kill you. The only thing the necro can really do to slow someone down is hope for some garrote styles (which is only on the greater necroservant pet I think) and ichor. And the greater necroservants aren't immune to CC.
Necros shouldn't have trouble with most any class. But this is assuming both the necro and its opponent are on the same skill level. And you rarely see talented necros.
