Personally, I like the idea, but no matter how much you call it a "bonus" it's still going to feel like a penalty for those who do not qualify. What if you just need to pay your house rent on another realm? No bonus for a week.

A penalty would imply that it hurts the other side and the fact is once a realm loses relics there is a noticeable shift in players who will go and play the opposing realm for the advantages they have because of the relics aka the relic bonus. Ive literally heard of players declare on the BG their intentions to go play for the opposing realm because of the advantages they will now have due to owning relics. Now if other players lost RP,BP or XP due to switching, now that would be a penalty.

This bonus simply would be a reward to those players who dont jump ship the moment things dont go well for their realm.

No doubt relics affect many players. But personally, me and the few friends I play with, switch realms because we feel like playing something else.

Promote more community and realm pride.

looking down on someone for coming and helping you kill the enemy kills realm pride...

if your in a fight, and someone joins in and helps kills the enemy, it should be a happy time, vanquishing the enemy, adding should be encouraged... but instead everyone just gets pissed and calls there own realm mates names...

its player additudes killing the community, not the game mechanics

Its also the mechanics. In order to be viable in RvR - and stand a decent chance of living long enough to get an enjoyable fight, you need thousands upon thousands of RPs to get the RAs. Without certain essential RAs you might as well not bother entering the frontiers, even grouped up. My current project, my Valkyrie in CV at the moment, wins mostly when Charge and Purge are up, wins sometimes when only Purge is up, and mostly dies instantly or within seconds if neither is up. The RAs being available trump the fact that shes fully templated, well equipped, and a fairly powerful effective class. Personally I think a lot of the current RAs should be made baseline for each class (i.e. everyone gets Purge1 at 20, Purge2 at 40, and Purge3 at 50, etc etc with the others based on class specifics).

Last night I was in a group in Cathal Valley (I have to suffer there leveling up my new Valkyrie because I doubt I will do well in NF unless I get at least close to 5L0 first. I figure I have another month or so in Purgatory) - when my group came across a group of the enemy taking the CV keep. Did we mention it in /region? No, within seconds the group leader said "Lets not tell anyone - we need the RPs", and it was supported by others in the group - so I said nothing myself either. This felt so fundamentally wrong to me it bothered me. Its not the game I used to play.

To be clear, if I am engaged with an enemy and you jump in to help kill them, I don't care. I welcome the help. The purpose of RvR is to defeat the enemy realms and gain objectives that help my realm, not for my personal score.

Mind you I said I thought Realm Points and Realm Abilities were a mistake when they added them to the game. They changed the RvR experience from just fighting the enemy because they were the enemy to trying to outfight your own realm mates to get the most points first - this includes abandoning realm mates who might want help if its gonna hurt your groups RP harvesting. I dislike that immensely.

If they suddenly decided they wanted to bring back realm pride by insisting we are limited to only one realm, I could easily delete all of the characters I have in Hibernia and Albion without a minutes thought. I play Midgard and that's that pretty much

Reduce relic bonus from 10% to 5% each relic. Thats it.

As long as the bonus isn't rps. No need to speed up making the alb zerg RR12.
