I tried the 2 week trial after being gone for a couple of years, and I've noticed something weird over the last few days. I've had several people on different classes with massive ablatives up, literally absorbing thousands and thousands of points of damage. I've seen it on minstrels, elds, friars, and an arms, and it's 100% absorption so it can't be empty mind. My first thought was phase shift, but the minstrel I ran into was still dishing out damage, so that can't be it. Did they introduce some ridiculous skill while I was gone?

There are some classes that can string together massive ablatives. Minst is one of them.
Pulsing melee ablative for 70-100 depending on spec, 100% absorb.
Shades of mist defensive proc 200 point ablative 100% absorb.
Armor defensive procs also stack for 150 and 200 delve, 50% absorb.
And there's a new Summoner's hall active charge 500 point ablative 50% absorb.
Add defensive heals procs, and health regen and it can seem like their health doesnt move. Make sure to desiese and or bleed style them.
The trick it to hit less times for more damage or have more ablatives yourself

All of those have been in for a while, none of them explain soaking up 3000 damage in less than 7-8 seconds.

No, I would see 0 (-462) or whatever my spell damage was. It was a 100% absorption ablative that just soaked up everything I threw at it.

the target was in zephyr ? That's the only 100% absorb for more than 200 damage I know  and wasn't changed sooooo long ago. Maybe Phaseshift and Druid rr5 ? |

No, they were doing damage, so it couldn't have been phase shift, and albs couldn't have a druid with them. That's why I'm asking, because I don't know of anything that could do what they were doing.

Next time I notice it I will, but I'm not a noob, just haven't played in a while. I know what phase shift and zephyr look like.
