Well i did log back in. 9 hours later finally got a CSR who repeatedly said i should include the players name when i appeal and what happened. I did of course already do that multiple times on every way you can appeal. Then told the dude what happened in /send and the reply was i will need the players name and description of what happened. So long story short i will not be returning to this game ever again. CSR's used to be half way helpfull, now they are plum retarded 5 year olds

You must be female. Only females think others are mindreaders.

well said!

Aparently you cant read as i clearly stated i said who and what happened multiple times to the CSR and in appeals. So the mindreader thing is out of the question totally. LTR

invisible bug, as stated, log out, log back in. i've seen different variations of this, one, the character looks like he has no armor or weapons, another, hes just stiff and the model doesn't move, be he just like floats around. but all of them are repaired by logging out.

if your going to rage quit a game for a known bug that's been around for at least 3 years now, than perhaps its for the best. i hear at 50, people die a lot more.

Old bug or not, it should have been responded to and fixed. I was lvl 15 at the time with quest turn ins left to complete. The death booted me from the BG, i didnt rage quit instantly i appealed and waited and got nothing so then i quit. Dont just assume what happened, you know what that means.

Please tell us what game you end up playing that doesn't have any bugs. I'd love to check it out.

Your not understanding. I dont care if its an old or new bug. It should have been responded to or handled when i appealed not 9 hours later.

When they opened Thid for 50s I forgot I had my shammie bot logged in there. I log in and all these lvl 24 toons were around so I buffed them all up and they had a ball. Went out of the keep and killed peeps for 10 mins until I was ported back to SF. No RPs but it was fun wasting groups with Dots and bolts.

don't feel bad.. I reported a quest bug once when they revamped the starter quests. I think I was lvl 45 when I finally got a response from a csr.. I just replied back uh.. you see what lvl I am now right?

really a RR5 Celt?... was he a level 50 that made it into Thid....?

This occurred as a leftover character from the Mythic Event a couple months ago. They had a 'open Thidranki' night, where any character level, including L50s, could come to Thid via a special NPC teleporter. This same sort of event has more often occurred for Cathal Valley.

As you know, when a character levels up higher than the allowed level of a battleground, when they log out (assuming they are not killed and /release) they will be ported out of the battleground to their main border keep upon login.

However, for some reason, this action does not take into account characters that are already level 50. I am not sure how it affects sub-50's. What this person did is simply log out at the end of the night of the event and not log back onto that toon until the night in question.

Well I've certainly had level 50's in CV before, but I really thought someone would have taken advantage of this more. Surely then you would have seen more than just 1 level 50 in Thid over the last little while then, no?

I'm curious to know if its possible to break into someone's homeland like this. I've wanted to try this for so long but I think it would take a lot of cooperation. I mean if you got 100+ people to storm a NF border keep, don't you think it would take at least 10 seconds for some people to die? If you can get within so many units of the main door, then phase shift should get you through it don't you think? Problem is if you do this in NF you'll die on the other side of the port where the old OF guards stand at the realms border keeps. But if you did this in Thidranki then perhaps you could port to a low level quest hub.

Curious to know, has anyone tried running a zerg into a border keep to try and port to the other side?

p.s. Mythic you should run some event where you can take down the border keep guards and the door and raid an enemies homeland, including capital city, and look at all the merchants, just for one weekend, would be the funnest thing ever.

Aye,

I feel your pain original poster... I had an extremely bad run of " invisible " characters simply destroying me about a year ago. The GM system in DAoC has become, to be polite, absolutely pathetic compared to what it once was. I spent the better part of 2 weeks back then begging for a CSR to look into my issue with the game. I received the standard macro responses the first 3 tries, but thankfully on my fourth attempt I got a hold of a CSR that actually gave a damned and found out what was going on.

It didn't completely fix my problem with the game client, but I did find a sort of work around. My issue was happening due to the particular video card, its current driver and the settings I had choose for running the game. At the time I had just migrated from my trusty old desktop to a much newer and more powerful laptop. With those settings all in place I would randomly have enemy players engage me in combat to only discover them disappearing on me completely. I must have died dozens of times before the CSR and myself figured out I wasn't lying to him.

When said players would disappear I had initially thought they were either cheating or something was terribly wrong with the game, but it was the fact DAoC's engine was so extremely out dated along with my video card and its driver being so new. Once all that was taken into account I was able to more-or-less fix it. I started just re-logging when possible and the majority of the times said player would usually reappear for me. Then over time and a lot of trial and error I found out that the problem went away after I found a new driver for my video card. On a side note I also had been running the game with the bare minimum settings. An old habit from the days I only had a Duron 800 and a Voodoo 3 video card. Anyway, after cranking my video settings up to the maximum I never had an issue with characters becoming invisible ever again. Newer video cards and systems will easily play DAoC with all settings maxed out these days and I was forcing mine to play it like I use too. I mean I had that Duron 800 and Voodoo 3 playing on an ancient 33.6 ISA dial up modem so I had to run everything turned all the way down, but my new system experienced a weird glitch in the form of disappearing players as a result.

The CSR was dumbstruck when I frapsed the evidence and sent it to him, but once I discovered the compounding issues and addressed them, bingo! My invisible bad guy cheat vanished with it... I don't know if this is anything like your problem, but again I completely understand your mounting frustrations friend. I come very close to quitting DAoC simply because I totally believed the players disappearing were cheating in some fashion or another. It was a learning experience for myself and I always take a calming breath these days before freaking out like I did back then.

I hope you will take the time to check into what happened and return to playing. I would bet you money it was something like what happened to me or like other poster have mentioned a glitch left over from the level 50 night in Thidranki or something like it...

Take Care, Ruinorz...
