Hi all, I know you probably get a ton of these posts every week and I'm sorry to add on to them, but me and my friend are about to start playing DaoC and I would like to know what would compliment my friend's class. He is pretty set on being a Valewalker, so if anyone could tell me what would go well with a Valewalker, I would very much appreciate it.
I am willing to play any role or class, though I have always preferred being a melee, heavy armor-wearing class, However I heard that the warrior classes are usually not the best choice for a noob. So, I am open to any class.
Thanks a lot if you decided to read this and contribute.

well if hes picking a VW i would suggest a warden or bard, they would be fun. Failing that an animist
Just to note, warden is heavy armor wearing melee but has a healing spell line so hes like a hybrid, the best thing those is his chants or recurring spells, one gives a bubble, one gives melee haste and theres a few others

You'll want a speed class, or invest in a lot of BP speed gems.
Personally I'd go Vamp or Champ. Champ is probably the easier of the two to play though.

I appreciate the reply.I have one question though...
By speed do you mean they provide movement speed for the group or that they are fast at killing or something? Sorry, I'm new so any little bit of clarification helps.

Speed as in movement speed to get out of dodge lol. Neither of the classes I recommended has group speed spells (vamp has a self speed spell if you spec in their SM line), but you can always buy speed gems with your bounty points that you accumulate through RVR (they are kinda like RP's, but you use them for other stuff).
Warden is a good choice if you must have a class with a speed spell, although the Warden speed spell is only as fast as the bounty point speed gems I just mentioned.
Bards are a pure support class, and have the fastest movement speed in Hibernia (same as Minstrel speed in Alb, and Skald speed in Mid). Your primary role if you choose bard is for CC, heals, and some buffs.
