I havent played in a while and Id like to get some characters templated out but Im about broke. With no bot what are my options for farming? I play mostly mid and have 2 50s a BD and a Hunter. Also I play Alb every now and then but my only 50 there is a Friar that I havent played in forever. I heard Friars were sick for farming but every damn thing seems to parry me so it takes forever to kill stuff. Which of those 3 would be best for making some gold/plat and where should I go to do it? Also do you make more plat by farming lots of easy stuff or going after one really hard mob? Forgot to add I also dont have a house on either side anymore so no vendor to sell stuff on.

I just rvr get money off killing people, then using the DF seals from the quests to salvage items. On the side I do Sc orders for people.

Level up an SC'r for about 8p to hit LGM.

Charge 1p per item you SC and profit.

never been a big fan of crafting in DAoC. is that really the only way to make plat?

There's a TON of player coin out there, to the point that you don't need to actually farm coin yourself. Farm scales, essences, glass, BP in the BG's, or seals in DF and sell them to players. If you're a big tough melee person, then find big tough enemies that drop lots of something. If you're a ranged person that can chain pull find easy stuff that respawns fast. If you like AE, find a field of enemies that are weak to your damage type and go to town.

I farm Afrits on my Mentalist/Druid combo. It works quite well for many reasons.

Tonight I was out there for about an hour and a half. I got lucky and got a Zahur's ring, plus about 16 or so reforming energies, which sell for around 500 gold a piece. Usually you don't get lucky with rare ToA drops though. But even with 10 reforming energies per hour plus 3-400 arcanite metal bars, it beats glass farming by a longshot.

I used to be able to make loads more plat though, farming mad tales and regarding shades in the early days of ToA, could make 20-30 plat off of each scroll and they honestly were not that hard to come by. Then even a long time after ToA was easy, I used to farm the mini dragons in NF late at night and sell Warshadow Bracers for like 40 plat. It's kind if ridiculous when you think about it, because that 40 plat didn't come into the game in any way except for the hard work of people killing monsters and salvaging their drops, probably at a rate of less than 2 plat per person per hour. And I used to be able to go out for 2 hours with a very good chance of getting an item worth 40 plat or more, just with two accounts.

Well apart from this, its good to level up a metalcrafter to salvage as well. But again, you will be one of the ones doing it the hard way and only getting about 2p for a full hours of work. But at least its quite easy, you can just buy DF seals in housing for the going rate, make a trip to D.F. and its completely straightforward from there, although very boring. Spellcrafting yields much better rewards I find, I usually just charge 500g an item and you can still make money like that. But I find I get a headache after about the third order, just from so much damn clicking and squinting to try and read down the spellcrafting list for all the gems and materials.

I have a level 50 spear Valk can I farm this stuff? Looks like you need a bot for anything decent. Also is a spear Valk even worth using or would it be faster to level up something better? Having trouble with Afrits damn things are hella fast. Also impossible for me to do the grape ones or the ones that summon chests/weapons unless Im doing it wrong.
