I suspect people hugely exaggerate the amount of realm switching that goes on, but nonetheless loyalty bonuses are a very good idea worth trying. My thought would be to start giving the bonuses after 24 hours playing one realm and ramp it up each additional day until it reached some reasonable maximum. Also relic bonuses shouldn't be given to your characters until you have played that realm for 24 hours.

No

We were forced to cluster and that wasn't our choice

We don't all realm hop due to joining greater numbers. If anything I actually realm hop to join the underdog - Should I lose out on a rp bonus etc for doing so?!

The population seems to go up/down so much cause of the EU/US time zone thing that people who are being "loyal" could be sat on a realm that:

a) has everything and can't be bothered to attack anymore
b) has nothing and no one can be bothered to form up

I voted no only because the suggested bonus includes a bonus to RPs. Using RPs for the bonus is bad concept.

There are far too many RP centric players (nice way of saying RP whores) to have RPs as part of the bonus. Most players today are RP centric (99.99%). For those about to be offended for being labeled a whore, I too am part of that crowd. I watch the RP status of my toons, those in the guild, the enemy, etc. . . and I too have pride the higher my RPs. If you are some of the few that do not care about RPs, your lying or you no longer play the game.

Many of the RP centric players rightfully feel that clustering is not their fault and they should be able to switch realms and play alternate characters and they should not take a hit to their RP 'status' simply because they want to fully utilize all three realms of the game. (While it many not be a penalty to their RPs, it is a penalty to their RP status.)

I can see how the whores . . . er. . .excuse me. . . the RP centric players who do not fully utilize the game would really like to have a bonus to their RPs and give themselves a bump up the RP status ladder but that egocentric stroking does not make the concept of an RP bonus the correct direction for the game. Pandering to a player's dark side has never been a good idea, though I can see how the recipients of the bonus could become excited at the thought of extra RPs for themselves.

While many bonuses would be viewed as simply a bonus, RPs are far too important a measure of skill, activity, status, etc. . . .and, like it or not (understand it or not) a bonus to one players RPs would be viewed my many as an unfair penalty to another’s RPs.

I agree with any that think an RP bonus would slow the realm hopping. It would slow it some, but it would also piss off many players (no, not just annoy them but really piss them off) and this game is not in a position to be losing more pissed off players. (Unless you know of another cluster waiting in the wings that can be used to boost the Frontier population the next time it falls below sustainable levels?)

There are other methods that would only be a minor annoyance to players and yet would be effective and still slow realm hopping.

I realm hop to join the realm with the least people so the argument that people only hop to zerg up is wrong. I constantly swap between my toons on alb / mid / hib whenever one runs out of action. More people to kill = faster action and more RPS.

there should also be, i enjoy 100% of the game bonus, where you gain the same bonuses if you play all 3 realms within 24 hours instead of only 33.333333333333333333%

same logic

Honestly I don't believe this is a big deal. And I'm sure they have enough things on their table of things they would like to do, that they could keep themselves busy for years of constant patch notes. So if something like this will be implemented, it would have to be very easy to code, and even then it probably wouldn't happen for many patches.

I also don't think they are going to play with a complicated system of ramping up relic bonuses based on how long you play each realm for or anything like that. For example, they could try a system like this:

Everytime a relic is captured by an opposing realm, they record which realm you play on next, whether that be 1 second after the relic is captured, or 1 week later when you log on for the first time after the relic switches hands. You only get bonuses from that relic while playing that realm, even if you switch between all 3 realms. In other words, if you are playing Hib while Hib loses one of it's relics to Alb, then you won't get any bonuses for having that relic when you log onto Alb. If you are playing Hib while Hibernia captures a relic, then you do get the bonus.

But here's the problem. Say Hib miraculously has 6 relics, and then on some weekend, their frontier turns red and blue. People can log off and not defend the relics, and then in an hour when all the relics are gone, log onto a realm of their choosing. Or if you weren't around to defend the relic, then which realm are you going to log onto next? In other words, it still has the exact same problems, some people will still tend towards the realm with the relic.

So thats the best idea I could come up with that is still fairly simple, and yet it doesn't work. Therefore, Mythic, please work on whatever else you feel like and don't waste time on this is any of the upcoming patch notes. I really don't think its a big deal.

I've found that the ones who complain about it the most are the ones who do it the most.
