Go to any realms main bridge and you will get zerged down by the stealth zergs and coast gaurds.

Yes this is true, but from my experience, it is far worse when you go to Alb. I don't solo much but occasionally I do on a Mentalist. I don't even bother with Albland anymore. Honestly with Mid I can sometimes make it across their main bridge, but if I want to be safe I can stay somewhere a little further away and there's a chance I might survive for 10-15 minutes. On Alb you're gaurunteed to die within 1 minute of going within a visible radius of the bridge. That's my experience on a visi.

I generally play Hib and get zerged down just as fast on bled bridge as I do on beno bridge. This is assuming the realm doesn't have a port into another realm and the bled/beno port is open. Alot of times they will have a port open into another realm and then the bridges aren't as bad in my experience anyway.

As for fighting styles, Hibs like to camp and ambush, Mids like to roam and charge and Albs like to zerg. If Albs don't have overwhelming numbers they usually can't stomach a fight and run away a lot or use their army of Sorcs to create a ranged standoff. Hibs and Mids tend to be braver about charging when outnumbered, Mids often to the point of being wreckless. I think it's the melee realm thing with Mids, they can't usually win a ranged standoff so it's usually a case of commit everything and go for it.

Do you still play now and what realm generally? I have seen many times when the mid zerg will sit in a tower/ck waiting for the hibs/albs to finally try and take it. No brave reckless charging that you talk about.

I have played all 3 realms and in general you see all play styles on all realms. Making it sound like people who play Mids are just better players as if they are truly a different race is kind of funny.

Overall the same people who play in Albion and Midgard also play in Hibernia, so the everything depends on where they log.

Hibernia has been my main realm since the game started, I have all LGM crafters there and every class there is at 50, most two or 3 times over. I have played every class in Albion at 50 and have also played several mid classes to rr5+.

Midgard is hot and cold, it can be extremely good when its active, but it also can be completely dead more often than I care for. The people in Midgard are generally fun. In Albion, if you are not in Craig's and Luvly's alliance, it is a disaster. Albion has the most unskilled players of the 3 realms, but there are a few who are quite good.

Hibernia has some very good people in it but it also has some of the most elitist punks in the history of DAoC. People are much less patient with people here than in the other 2 realms. Region is often the place where drama reigns and insults are normative. Hibernia is just now starting to work together, but that can change rapidly. Anyone who tries to lead the realm must be prepared to take alot of heat.

So much ignorance & arrogance in one thread; it would almost be entertaining if it wasn't so sad.

Play all 3 realms and with any regularity and you'll find it's all the same people in all 3 realms. There are jerks, nice people, elitists, noobs, true experts, self-professed experts who're actually noobs, lots of FoTMers, blind sheep, zergers, leechers, adders, griefers, spies, paranoids who think everyone is a spy, cross-realmers, smack-talkers, scammers, cheaters, exploiters, etc. etc. etc.

The vast majority of people, however, are just normal folks and most of them are quite nice if you have enough social adeptness to not come across as a complete douche when you ask them about something reasonably intelligent. I think almost every person has a little of some or even all of the stereotypes in them; just depends on time, place, and situation.

Try being polite, persistent but not annoying if you don't immediately get an answer, and don't get caught up with the loud-mouth trolls whom are mostly just attention starved drama-queens. They will drag you down to their level in /region and people will think you're a douche and ignore you.

Most of all show people you're not just trying to get something for free off them, but do the work yourself that is expected of you before you head into NF. For example, these days you're going to get ZERO compassion from existing players about leveling and getting geared up. It's gotten so pathetically easy to get to 50 & RR4ish and put yourself into a remotely decent template, that there is NO need to EVER be begging for plat, PLing, etc. You can do all these things yourself on almost any class. Of course best if to choose a class that people want/need, that way you're going to make friends very fast in any realm.

I bet the reason you see so many unskilled Albs (compared to the % of unskilled Hibs or Mids) is because most people can relate to a 'human' realm the most.

Most new or noobish players will then likely gravitate to Albion where they recognize the landscape, architecture, classes, and races.

Thus, you will find the largest percentage of unskilled players there.

The differences between the realms used to exist but no longer.

Albion is clearly doomed to always be the noob realm though... that one really stuck.

Don't be too harsh with albion scouts.
They have a small quickbar.

Well since ya'll whined enough to get their only other useful button nerfed to near uselessness, what do you expect? ;-)

Not to mention that especially Rangers aren't any better about wilsoning on fights so I'm sure their hotbar is looking basically the same, since most are convinced the class can't melee. Even Hunters, who have the least reasons to wilson on a 1v1 fight of all the archers, always seem to...even if they're packing 7 buddies they have a bad habit of still blowing FZ on a solo enemy rogue.

Anyone who wants to point as Albs being the noob realm, obviously hasn't noticed the RR12 newbs regularly running with massive stealth zergs that the Mids regularly run, or seen the ever present Ranger bridge-relic campers at DC west who all seem to have a DI bot in the tower.

Every realm has bad players, and in every realm especially the bad players tend to flock to popular/strong classes that we all love to hate.

@Windwalker'

You can go solo at the crauch bridges will there be coast guarders adders leachers? Yes but you can solo

You can solo at the brynja bridges yes you will run into hunter zergs

HOWEVER BENO BRIDGE AREA IS UNSOLOABLE

If you find a solo alb 15 more will always come from out of no where. guys like protex ghostbullyutodeath wuwuss katrylique jadda will make sure you dont get out of there alive period. ALB players do not like stealthers solo grouped or whatever they will run you over. Albs seem to have a button they push that summons more albs and the more you kill the more waves and waves of overwhelming numbers will come.

I dont go to labby much but I admit Lab is a mid zerg area when I do go.

DF when alb owns DF there are no solo players period. Guys like Protex, Freuginod Maxdj etc will run you over.

I know there are bads on all 3 realms I have played 2 of the 3 and have bg toons in alb. However albs maybe because a LARGE PORTION of YWAIN players have their MAINS on the ALB realm have some of the most obnoxious pvpers of ALL 3 realms.
