but they can be CC'd, unlike theurg pets. If people were smart, they would kill the minions and not the commander.

Uh, yeah. Easier on paper than practice.
If I was playing an Ani I'd love to have this nerf actually, being able to concentrate my pets attacks would be huge bonus instead of just irritating a few different ones.
