I have just come back to this game for a few weeks now after many years, and all i can say is there is nothing like it. Best MMO out to date IMO. Just thought i would share.

You can fill that asterisk with a lot of games lol. DAoC is in my top 10, but hasn't been my #1 in many years.

Yes... even if the "highend" pve isn't like in other games...
DAoC has the best variety of gameplay that is around...
And... the "Endgame" is always different... ok RvR is at large the same, but every fight is new and fresh...
And... Housing!
Logging in the character after nearly 2 years of playing other games and it was a feeling like coming home from a long travel... felt really good.
Sure there are some things that would be nice to have... or some bugs that needs fixing... but all in all DAoC is the most roundup/complete game there is right now.

Pretty sad that with all the technology that is out right now for next gen games etc. Games like Skyrim, Dragon Age on consoles that could easily be made as engines for MMo's that could be used as an engine for something groundbreaking. Dont get me wrong I love daoc and prob wont play another mmo seriously again due to my age but shiz its been 10 years lol.

I would say 10 years strong! there is a reason you are still playing, and a reason why I and about 3-4 new threads open a day on people saying they are coming back. The different angles of pvp and the choices you get to make while pvping someone are just insane. I hear alot of people complaining about DAOC, but they are doing what they can with what they can afford and have. I suggest if your bored take a break or go play another MMO for awhile then come back, it will blow your mind how much better it is. Also like jester said its too bad this game has fallen into the back light and not a lot of people know about it or its pvp style.

thats funny you say that about being on a long trip. When i loaded it up for the first time that music made me smile and get excited. I remember when it first came out I would stay up till 6 a.m. just to reach lvl 20, and the hangout was Gna Faste. The good ole days.

had my first solo fight couple of weeks ago since 2006... great fight, really close one, still lost...
my heart was racing... when i noticed i felt totally stupid... and got hooked again 
game is great but i will eventually quit again since it takes up too much of my time.
