it seems that id have to transfer all my characters to the new ywain cluster.
is there a character limit?
can i have all 3 realms?
i had a dozen 50's, spread throughout all 3 realms and about 4 different servers when i quit.
also, what happened to mordred? that was my main server for years. im assuming they didnt cluster it in with all the normal ruleset servers?

well i just noticed there is still a mordred forum so it looks like its still a barren wasteland. its a shame.
about my other questions?
also, is there a way to retrieve my old vn board username?

Welcome back.
Ywain info:
Server population was dieing and to help keep server population up Mythic was clustering servers together. As the player population continued to shrink, Mythic needed to continue clustering servers but they had a huge problem, the database of old characters was becoming so huge (on the existing clusters) the database was becoming unmanageable. Because the existing databases were so huge, Mythic could no longer combine the databases, which meant they could not form a new cluster (yet they needed to cluster the final servers together to keep the population up to keep RvR viable).
Mythic’s solution, create a new server that everyone, all active players, will transfer to (everyone transfers except Mordred and the Coop). There are 10 Ywain login servers that are just character holding areas. The 10 login servers allow players to transfer up to 100 old characters to the new server, but Ywain 1-10 is only one server.
The old servers will be maintained as character holding areas for returning players; so returning players can come back and transfer toons over to Ywain.
If you have level 50s on the old Classic server, there is a quest that gives free ML credit before you are allowed to transfer.
Mostly it does not matter which Ywain you use, as all Ywains are really just one server, but housing on Ywain 1-3 is very full so if you are thinking of getting a house I would use a different Ywain than 1-3.

It may or may not have been mentioned in one of those links, but before transferring any characters, do a search on changing characters names as this is your on chance to do so.
in short you make a new character on the ywain server with the old name, then when you make the actual character transfer the system will queue your name followed the numbers, so "Slyfox" becomes "Slyfox118", then you'll be prompt to assign a new name when you try to log the character in on the ywain server

dunno if somebody already said it. you probably read it elsewhere.
xfer to any Ywain but not 1 or 2 (shortage of housing). other than that ywain1-10 is actually the same server.
except you gotta log onto each one separately to get to char selection screen. so don't be an idiot and put half your hibs on ywain5 and the other half on ywain6 (unless you've got 20...)

I think this only works if the name is not unique...someone else is using it.

Huh? if the name is already taken then there's no need to make a new character on the ywain server, same results will happen. If not the new character you make will occupy the name and again the same results. you'll force a name change

got my pw reset and its all up and running.
now the hunt is on to find all my characters ><
wish the server screen had a check or something if i had toons there.
only found 4 of my 50's so far, besides the ones on mordred
not sure where all i had mules with plat though
