and incase ya didnt get it.. it would also include buffing npcs, potions, item buffs, buff procs/charges...

so the stats of your character/gear is all you ever have....



I got it just fine im not all for Any solution. the only thing i am for is that this game would truely be funner without basic Buffs. IE: AF - DQ Casted buffs potions ect.

the only thing that could possibly make you hate this is because you used to roll over people who had no buffs when you had a buffbot and therefore a completely winning advantage. Now I could be wrong, but I think I'm right.

Your missing the point corfel, i offered stat increases as a substitute for buffs only 1 option. I am mainly pointing out that these classes would be a lot funner to play if they weren't FORCED to have Enchantment spec.

for EXAMPLE: Vampiir Buffs are automaticly on the character. It does not mess with the Gear/stats

Buffs play a part in RvR though. A Vamp has an advantage not just because they don't need a buffbot, but because they are immune to buff shears, and when they get rezzed they are instantly ready. Rezzing, re-buffing, and buff shearing play a part in RvR.

Now obviously they could build in all stat buffs, and change buff shears to different type of debuffs and everything, but at this point I'm relatively ok with the buff system the way it is. You'll just have to accept that some things in this game are trivial, like having to cast timer buffs every 10-20 minutes, or repairing your gear, or picking up loot that you can do nothing with and then having to sell it (why not just give us the gold right away?). Buffs are a similar examples, where it would make everyones lives easier if DAOC existed without them, except that as I said they play an important role in RvR, apart from the buffbot aspect.

it would make the game slower, not easier. faster gemaplay supports good players more than it does for bads, so i am all against removing buffs.

To be honest i was kinda trying to get at what would be funner and more challengign Rej/Enh or different specs that would open up so many new playstyles.

Except the effectiveness of debuffs depends on the target's current stats, so the value of debuffs and shears depends on the permutation of their combined usage, and they are different from each other.

I know for sure that I enjoyed playing shaman as support because my team staying up relied on me keeping them buffed etc as well as throwing out debuffs/diseases etc

Let me help you, 41 Cave, 35 mending Shammy. Warden, 45 regrowth, 39 blade, 35 sheild. Friar, 50 rej, 50 Staff. Druid. 32 regrow, 43 nature. The specs go On and on there is now way buffing is funner than these many many specs.



i am all for thinking out of the box and that stuff but you are missing the point of buffs entirely.

All buff lines of the classes you mention which are not primary healer define themselves over their enhance lines.

a warden without buffs is a guy with a sword/shield who can heal. he is very bad in both areas and lets face it... you are actually limiting the spec options and criplling the classes. You would always choose a real druid over a warden. firar ist pretty much the same... shamy could still be viable because both of the lines left are rather supporting lines. (no you would not group a shamy for damage). A healer type in leather with a 2hand weapon witho no af/absorb buffs and haste? why the hell would you group that? its about the role a toon can play in a group that will get him in...

as for the primary heal classes:

druid is great and viable because you have two support lines...
cleric is great no doubt about it but a cleric that kills cant heal... do not kid yourself about the dd/heals they do nothing in a FG
healers would not gain a lot by it. They pretty much choose if they want to cc or heal..

your suggestion would not make a game better but it would create a completely diffrent game and cause an avalanch of redesigning all characters. and thats why its stupid.
