Hey Kay folks. I was curious if anyone is playing SWTOR. I have leveled a mini army on the Daragon Trail server. I have one maxed out toon (Scoundrel) and many in their 30's 40's). I am having a good time with my current guild but I got a nastalgia bug and was curious if anyone else is playing from oldschool Kay. If I found a few of you playing on another server I would be willing to reroll.

If anyone wants to try the game out look me up on Daragon Trail. If i'm not on NewtGingrich, my scoundral, i'll be on Vorne, RushLimbaugh, Mappo, SinFear or Rud ThreeTrees

lol @ 2 Newt Gingrich appearances on the DAoC general boards in one day.

SWTOR is so good, you're posting on the DAoC forums instead of playing it?

When I first started playing Everquest, DAoC, and WoW.. I didn't go post on other forums. Because I was too busy, you know, playing the games.

You may be unaware, but some people actually log out to do other things like, you know, like participate in RL. This could include posting on forums other than those related to the subject of the post...

I loved SWtoR for exactly 2 months. I was really immersed in the storyline and I got really into my character. On top of that, we had a guild of RL friends and more than 30 of my friends ended up playing full time with us.

Then we started PvPing, and just like WoW, it's really fun for the first week and a half until you realize that any game with a global cooldown timer, soft interrupting and spammable short duration CC isn't built for PvP at all.

I cancelled about a week ago and haven't looked back. It could have been a really REALLY good game, but it's a shame that designers are still sticking with the terrible "Let's make our game look and feel like WoW" template.

The game has only been out for 7 weeks, even counting the early start week... But to the content of what you wrote, many people didn't like the game. As of yesterday, however, Bioware showed that at least 1.7 million do. That is how many people resubbed after the first free month. It accounts for over 80% of those that bought the game. Those are excellent numbers...

Oh my god, only 1.7 million subs for the FIRST MONTH?

That's less than the miserable failures of Warhammer and Age of Conan.

What is with people on this forum? Do they think that they can just throw numbers around and wont be questioned? Warhammer online had 800,000 subscriptions at its peak. Two months after launch that number dropped to under 300,000. Age of Conan barely reached 1 million and the numbers dropped even faster than Warhammer Online. Wikipedia is your friend. By the way, the 1.7 million number was in hard disk sales alone. The third party companies that people DLed the game from (40% of all subscription according to Bioware) are not counted in the 1.7 million number. So it looks like they have close to 3 million active accounts. This is almost FOUR TIMES as much as Warhammer online... at it's highest point!

If you look here, http://www.computerandvideogames.com/334215/star-wars-old-republic-the-fastest-growing-mmo-in-history/ , you will see that SWTOR has now become the "Fastest growing MMO in history."

Anyway, I came here to look for old friends, not have @ss-hats make ridiculous claims based on numbers they generated in their head...

I started playing the game over xmas break. It's February now. That's 2 months to me.

Anyway, the whole 1.7 million people thing is nice but I attribute that more to the fact that the MMO market has grown in number combined with the fact that everybody loves Star Wars. Didn't Rift have something like 1.2 million at about this point?

Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun playing while I was playing, but at the end of the day it's just not DAoC and that's a real problem for me.
