Currently playing on Uthgard, but not sure if the RvR there will be enough for me
I enjoy both solo, group and zerg (and none as a stealther), and the first and third is not being done a lot there.

Just not sure if it's a bit to overwhelming to return...

I left behind a RR11 sm, and RR8 valk, and several RR6+, but most are equiped from before Labyrinth, so it seems like a lot of work to retemplate them
And I'm not into running with a not so good template

Can run 3 account with pretty much any class on Midgard, and of course don't mind doing raids and all, just not sure how fast I could retemplate 1-3 chars


And finally, I play Euro time (19.00-23.00 CET), so would there even be happening enough raids and RvR at this hour?

After a quick google search, I see Uthgard is a private server. I wasn't aware of it's existence. How many players play there? I never found this type of server attractive if the official game is still alive and running. And it is certainly the case.

I discovered the free 14 day trial last week by pure chance and I decided to give it a go. I am very glad I did because I am now certain that I will play for a few months at the very least.

I had quit in 2004 or 5 I can't remember and so even before you left. My equipment seems fine for PvE but not so great for RvR. Templating can be a pain but there are many websites that will help you and you can check your class forums here, just google it or ask. I find that the community is very helpful as a whole. You can download and use a great little programme called Daoc Charplan that will help you.

I think you'll be grand with what you have now and you can build from there. You still have a nice advantage that are starting again at RR11 or 6 which is very nice indeed. The gear hasn't moved on that much compared to what it might have if you were playing other games like WoW for instance.

I too play from Europe, on GMT. There seem to be many rvr raids during the evening time (afternoon in the states) and especially around 11 pm or midnight. If you can stay up that long during the week great, if not, you can wait and raid at the weeked. It's not ideal but hey, I'm just glad the game is still running and people are coming back. There are quite a few europeans in my Alb guild, I'm sure it would be the same on Mid.

Took me about 2-3 days of doing glass/scale quests to get my fresh 50 Vamp templated from CV gear.

The BGs, Molvik, CV are always a good place to gauge yourself and usually have action. Gearing up for Molvik is alot easier than NF and everyone is same rr so the playing field is level

FYI Discussing Private servers is against ToS so I would take it to PMs else this thread will only get locked which I don't think the OP wants

Ignore - thought OP was on Mythic servers.

I believe that it is within the rules to discuss a shard, in some circumstances, as long as the actual shard is not named and as long as no one gives instructions on how to find the shard or how to use the shard. I have seen some shard discussions go more than a page but usually (eventually), if the thread is about shards, the discussion ends up going over the line and the thread gets closed.


Much can be up to the interpreter but I believe that this thread has gone over the line by just a bit.

I only stated that I played there, as to explain my choice was not between not playing and daoc, and playing, but rather on returning to my old accounts.
I won't go into a discussion on the state of private servers.

Okay sounds good with the glass thing, which I have no clue what is... apart from it being glass.
Heard that the places are quite heavily camped though?

I reckon that best approach would really be to join a guild, and then ask questions from there...

So... think I'll do that 14 days trial, and see how far I get
