Author Topic: @Bioware/Mythic Suggestions to make DAoC A much better place! [Locked]

Here are a list of suggestions that would make things in the game much more enjoyable.

1. Change the way trogo zontanos mageia handles reforming energies instead of spending hours turning them in 1 by 1 (I've spent 7 hours turning in 900 reforming energies). How about if you select the mob name it will just take the required amount instead?

2. Force consignment merchants that are full of money not to be listed. It is more aggravating running to the house because you do not want to spend the 20% just to find out the merchant is full.

3. Add in a way to search for bonus level on the market explorer, this way I don't have to sift through 3rd party fan sites to find out what I need. And some of that information can be unreliable. It would also make building templates for lower level characters so much easier.

4. A lot of veteran players would also like the choice of having old tooltips (name of the ability with duration timer). Some tooltips in game are so huge it takes up a good chunk of the screen (like speedwarp).

5. Last, but not least. The information window. Every single time I shift + right-click a buff on my top bar it forces the information window to open. This is so annoying. Can something please be done about this?

In a game designed for pvp, which is surviving off of pvp, why provide more incentives for farming and market trading? Sure, these are more convenient, but there are much more important things. Balance population, de-incentivise zergs, or incentivize zerging even more so that people who spam lfg for an hour can actually get some reward out of contributing to a battle, even without a group. Remove charge from reavers. Make Necros more viable in RvR but remove their ability to ground Target in the middle if a zero fight without suffering and consequences. Make keeps/towers more difficult to take. No keep ever took ten minutes to conquer back in the day. Increase time between realm switches back up to an hour. Stupid no hack wannabes playing only whatever realm has all the relics instead of having any realm pride. Basically old DAoC. I'm wishing for a lot here that won't happen unfortunately.. forgive typos. Phone loves to autocorrect words when it shouldn't, and I don't feel like proof-reading.

Every issue he listed is an issue for pvpers.

You want a modern template, you turn in energies or buy rog from someone who did.

You want to template your new character to get into rvr as soon as possible, you don't want to run around to five houses before being able to buy what you need.

Being able to buy level appropriate gear for the bgs more easily helps new/returning players (and there are more than you may think) get somewhat better gear without a lot of effort.

The new tooltips largely suck and can be detrimental to the rvr experience when all you really care about is how long is left on your cc.

Last one is just a little annoyance which would be nice to fix.

As an avid pvper myself, I would far rather Mythic fix the OPs list than your list of random qqs.

I find myself using right-click to move my camera.. and like 6/10 times my cursor is near one of my buffs and well yea... you can imagine what thats like with an info window right in front of you and you can't see lol. Kinda like heavy rain in a car with no wipers.

Yes the game is at least 85% rvr. However the suggestions I mentioned, are to help new players get out into rvr quicker, and with less hassle. While a few of the other suggestions are to keep veteran players satisfied with the game play without causing more hair pulling situations.

Nah. There is a lot of fun to be had in Killaloe, Thidranki and Braemar... All three you can get some action and even get some RR as you go along.

Leveling is so easy, and pretty fun (you meet new people in the BG's, you grow with you character), so I do not agree with /level.

As for OP; I mean... I make a ton of plat abusing the overpriced Chinese farmers... so, I would nay-nay that. On the other hand a bonus level search would be wicked, I use a custom UI so the tooltips are really not a factor... Dunno. I would rather have the resources left in DAoC put forward to making my RvR experience better.

Make another server kinda like old emain, and you can pick only 1 realm, no realm/relic hopping. See how many come back and take it from there.
