People that level up characters without playing them until 50 make baby Jesus cry.

Even if I can understand the Glass-changes to some point, though I am not conform with them, I see absolutely no reason for the battleground changes. So you all just are happy with paying plats to some macro groups for pushing your alts ? Or you really like to lvl it up by hand for the 100th time again... ? No one can seriously agree to that.

The pace you were able to lvl your alts in a normal lvl grp, spit up to the three spots in each bg, turning in together, was quite fine. Short, but not too short. It caused players to play together, so each one could kill at a different spot. Now people will go back to solo+alt, for there's no more real benefit from grouping, everyone can kill 5 blue mobs on his own.

Are you serious? You can still do 1-50 in under a week. I just did it by grouping in the BG's and not splitting up. It's still ridiculously fast.

It used to take 2 months to get to 50. Now it takes less than a week to do it almost solo.

1-50 under a week is horrible for a game that is over 10 years old and relies on lvl 50 RvR only. 1-50 within few hours in a randomgroup is (now: was) a decent number.

Low lvl PvM is nonexistant. If you ever see someone in PvM areas it's a lvl50 toon + lowlvl alt, played by a SOLO-player (you know Daoc is multiplayer ?). If there are more than two, it will still be 1 Player..
Bg quest in their old form caused players to group, for it was more effective. Now groups are just a hinderance again, so people will go back to Solo+alt or paying for powerleveling.

I always thought playing together with and against (RvR) others was the fun part of mmorpgs , but I get proved wrong, both ingame with people unwilling to group and here on the boards with people telling me changes made to discourage grouping are fine. Therefore i must assume MMORPG stands for: Solo-player-game.

I don't see grouping being an hindrance. You have to be in the same area. Its easier to kill wisps/frogs with 8ppl there than just 1.

The only thing that will slow is the ability to hit multiple camps at the same time (in a FG). But really we're talking about... an two hours or so added to your leveling time? Not bad, most of us don't get groups this efficient all the way though anyways. Still, they shouldn't have changed it.

The glass makes sense. I have access to 4 accounts. Leave three at the turn in. Kill 7 crocs in what takes maybe a minute or two? (depends on if other people are there). That's 680g ever couple minutes = 20p an hour. What if I had access to 8?? That's a lot of plat.

The only effect I can see the bg quests having on "real" players and not leachers is that a group can't split up. This doesn't REALLY decrease your quest time that much anyway. Now your whole group is killing at each spot making those kills go 3x faster. The only time your loosing is running between 3 camps instead of one. That's what, 30 seconds a turn in? I'd say an extra 30-45 seconds a quest run is worth not having people go mysteriously afk at quest turn in and not helping kill mobs. I expect with the loss of leachers your actual leveling speed will probably stay very close to the same.

The Glass quest needed it.

But the Bg quests i think were fine the way it was, it's not as though there were huge ammounts of afk leeches waiting for the turn-in's. But maybe we're not seeing what EA/Myth saw.

It's 2012, if a player learns anything about PvP from killing badly coded AI, they're probably really bad anyway.

Even if you do play them totally and go through the tutorial and then the BGs without stopping, you're not going to learn the intricacies of your class the way you level up now anyway. Most new or returning players (like myself) that go quickly from 1 to 50 will need long periods of time to adapt to the "new game" and fully learn how to play their class efficiently in RvR situations.

I've just come back to the game after 7 years and I don't mind this change to the Glass quests, nor the BG quests. I found these quests to be a god send on 1 side and totally ridiculous on the other. In 2003 if I had 20plat I felt rich. Now you can make it in a few hours and it's not as if the game required you to have all this money so quickly. From what I gather, the rare drops for the great templates are only getting more and more expensive because of all the money available in game.
On the other hand, I needed to get back up to speed quickly, so these quests have allowed me to so by gaining gold, mls and clxp quickly.

I don't mind that I have to drag my bot along now instead of leaving him at the quest giver, it's no big deal.

Welcome back, i suggest you pit stop in Molv/Cv with new toons and cap the rp's. That will take the edge off the learning curve at 50 and give you a few points to play with at 50.

that's a good change, but they did it to slow. should be fixed weeks ago...

the quests will still give a lot of gold and stuff. but you can no longer exploit them on a bad way. while you are still able to stick your toons and level very very fast.
