Heya all.

After so many years jumping from a MMO to another, I feel like remembering my old but long loved Daoc times.

I've been checking Daoc's site and it said i was elegible for a 14 days free trial so I thought that would be perfect to check my characters and test the feeling of piloting them again in RvR.

But my surprise was that I had to pay the first month in order to get those 14 free days ... Is that the case? Do i have to actually pay for it to check my characters and everything?

If that is the case, I'm not sure it's worth paying to find I don't enjoy the game after 2 days or something.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

You do need to sign up in the first instance to get the 14 days, however you aren't billed anything until those 14 days are up

So if you subscribe and instantly cancel you will have your 14 days without being billed

It's a stupid system because those who pay with timecards basically can't claim their free time I guess.

I was just thinking about posting this very same question, LOL.

I remember when they anounced the last (I think) merge (or clustering) they gave us like 10 free days, but that was a long time ago iirc.

Hoping for a reply, thanks in advance!

EDIT: Awesome, thank you Corfel!!!! You just made my daaaaaay!!

Welcome back.

Ywain info:

Server population was dieing and to help keep server population up Mythic was clustering servers together. As the player population continued to shrink, Mythic needed to continue clustering servers but they had a huge problem, the database of old characters was becoming so huge (on the existing clusters) the database was becoming unmanageable. Because the existing databases were so huge, Mythic could no longer combine the databases, which meant they could not form a new cluster (yet they needed to cluster the final servers together to keep the population up to keep RvR viable).

Mythic’s solution, create a new server that everyone, all active players, will transfer to (everyone transfers except Mordred and the Coop). There are 10 Ywain login servers that are just character holding areas. The 10 login servers allow players to transfer up to 100 old characters to the new server, but Ywain 1-10 is only one server.

The old servers will be maintained as character holding areas for returning players; so returning players can come back and transfer toons over to Ywain.

If you have level 50s on the old Classic server, there is a quest that gives free ML credit before you are allowed to transfer.

Mostly it does not matter which Ywain you use, as all Ywains are really just one server, but housing on Ywain 1-3 is very full so if you are thinking of getting a house I would use a different Ywain than 1-3.

Charplan is a great character builder. It is a downloadable program and has all the updated stats.

Valmerwolf has great maps. For a good UI you can check the UI board.

Did like that 2-3 times already. I just opened my acc again with the 14 free days and as usual i canceled the future payment. The only difference is that now they sent me this mail:

Bioware Mythic
Cancel Subscription Notification
Your subscription for Bioware Mythic 14-Day Re-Enlistment Bonus for Username xxxxxx has been cancelled via the Account Management site.

The account is still open so i guess it's just BS.
