I should've posted this here before but now I've had more opportunity to gather data.

I'd like Mythic to take a look at the Hunter class in Midgard. The class is suffering from neglect. There are many things wrong with it.

1) Lack of Quick Cast: Archery is now a spell line. If it's a spell line, we should have quick cast. At least one non-interruptable arrow shot.

2) Not enough spec points: There aren't enough points to get the minimal useful Spear style (39) and still get the necessary level of Stealth, Beastcraft, and Bow.

3) If you get 50 Beastcraft, why can't you have a level 50 Hunter's Avatar? The gain over level 40 is still not what it should be.

4) Remove the recast timer on summoning Hunter's Avatar. There shouldn't be any because other classes don't have a timer in between pet summonings.

5) Hunters are too squishy. Since we lack sufficient defence, I strongly suggest you allow Hunters to wear Chain Mail.

6) Please repair Power Shot. It's not being affected by bonus to Casting Speeds.

Lest I forget, I'd like to propose to Mythic that Hunters get MoS for fewer spec points because I'm still not at MoS9 at 3L6 on my level 50 Huntress, and because of this I can't afford Purge, which is very important in RvR.

But yes, I recommend that Quick Cast be made available to Hunters as our class already has several handicaps and even has difficulty getting a group with visible classes because of this.

As an aside, please remove the Nearsight spells from Molvik, because at level 39 it can be cast but not cured. Also please reduce the Nearsight duration. A two minute Nearsight is far from fair.

You do realize that you are asking for buffs the the top stealth class in the game right?

in the right hands, with decent realm rank and gear, hunters are nearly unstoppable.


I love the class and I do not want to see it nerfed,gutted,destroyed.


PS in beta hunters had chain. and lower evade.


My advice to you is to think outside the box on your play style.

The things you are asking for are unreasonable, if given to much better players it

would ruin the flavor of the class and make it get crushed by the nerf bat.


Spec points are the same as other classes. If you want a better dog, or 50 composite stealth, or the 39/44 spear styles you have to pick 1 and sacrifice/compromise.

As you gain realm ranks you can lower your stealth and raise your other skills.


Hunters are not casters, and only casters get quick cast.

bad idea is bad, archery already does enough damage, crit shot from stealth is just as good as non-interruptable, as the target cant see you when your casting, rapid fire is the hunters version of quickcast.




this one is just BS, the point of having spec lines is you hafta choose what you want... if they were gunna give out enough spec points to do everything then there would be no point in spec points they'd just revert to assigning all abilities and skills to everyone for free.. but thats not how they work, or how they wanted it.. mythic wanted people to choose what they could do.





all other pet classes with the exception of the necro (wich isnt realy a pet class, because the shade is useless when the pet is up) get the same level castable pet as a hunter, why should hunter be difrent?





hunters used to not have a timer between casting of the doggeh, but when mythic made the spell insta cast they added a recast timer and this is how it should be, otherwise you could just constantly spam the spell and always have a dog up, if you want to remove the recast timer, mythic would hafta put a cast time back on the spell.





there supose to be squishy FFS, they are a stealth class that can pick and choose there targets and they have evade.... squishy is what they are supose to be.





again, not broken, intended design.. they hard coded the cast time of power shot on purpose, to balance out the DPS...





all assassins and archers have a problem with getting groups this is something that needs to be address on a whole for groupability of stealth classes, not just hunter.

and its got nothing to do with the hunters combat preformance or survivability, its the fact that stealth classes are generaly useless when they cant sneak about, and when in a visible group they cant sneak about...

my suggestion to help fix that would be to remove the negative impacts stealth has on movement, so a stealthed player can keep up with the group.

Although I would never spec 50 in BC; nor would I recommend someone else did so. Still, if you do, seems like you should get something better out of it.
