Oh I never said anything about the playstyle, you pretty much played the Ranger almost perfectly (in that you rarely traded blows, you kited, used LoS, etc) but on the other hand when you're sitting at MoS9 FE 9; you're dealing with people who are literally like MoS 6-7 and more than likely running Aug Dex (mostly Hunters, they need to); so, yeah... having a 40% chance of critical hitting on a bow against people when you're not engaging melee (which is well done) does give you can advantage against them lol.

Additionally, if you can't tell the difference between an RR4 and an RR9; even w/o RA's... eeek.

I have seen some pretty decent high rank rangers (mostly just zerg/coastguard/adders when you start getting rr10+) that actually have molested some of my chars melee (I remember being in vent with a bunch of Lab stealth zergers, and they were complaining because an rr11 ranger was hitting an r6 SB harder melee; and the QQ's that followed were amazing). But I actually like the way the Rangers played in the video, just would have been better with some real competition.

Just mix it up instead of like:
Archer, ArcherX2, Assassin that's running, Archer X2, Caster, Low rank tanks, Archer X2, Archer+Assassin.

You know, do like:
High Rank Skald, RR11 Hunter that makes you burn toys, High rank assassin that's name is recognizable, Savage that's not rr2 or 3, Duo that's not stealth and you survive by the skin of your teeth...
It's lame watching videos that in worst case scenarios have you using maybe a Zephyr. Throwing a single spear into someone... When I watch videos from DaOC I like them showing some actual intense play, some toys being used at the right time, some great competition. Then you gets the thumbs up.

Additionally, I'll slide my age up to 19 maybe twenty. But no older.

I'm kind of suprised at the responses (on ywain mostly) as to what people are expecting to see in a video with a sniper ranger. I don't doubt that those fights you wish to see may be more interesting.... I just don't get them.

If I'm fighting a high RR skald that knows what he's doing on a sniper templated/spec'd ranger... I have no chance.

My temp has 30 str in it, no +to melee skills, I have 2100 hits buffed, I don't have WH or SoM, I'm on NPC buffs... I can't stand and trade with people like alot of people seem to expect (not saying you do)

Without speccing/templating for more hybrid style, I'm just not going to get/pull off the fights you're talking about so I was kind of suprised by the critique.


As you've recognised though, I don't really play terribly imo - I kill with a method that works and I get away afterwards which is what I'm out to do.

Miss my melee ranger and my two melee scouts, but no way I could stand playing like this x<


If you want good fights roll a light or heavy tank, can't see anyone oldschool or with any bit of proper solo mentality getting anything out of this kind of gameplay mate, sorry
