Diablo 2 Installation |
I'm a computer moron and am having issues putting Diablo 2 back onto my comp. I'm getting the insert play disk error when I try to install the Expac. I googled it, found the solution which was to put the music file into the installed Diablo 2 folder, but I don't think I did that part correctly since it didn't fix the issue. Any suggestions? I'm running Windows 7.

I should also mention that I am unable to run the original game client either. Tried doing it via administrator mode and compatability with Windows XP but crashes to desktop upon the opening Blizzard logo screen.

Probably the easiest answer for you if it works:
Download the game from battle.net instead of installing it from CD, and the whole experience is very easy.

Register your cd key on battle.net and download the installer.

Well, I got the thing downloaded, but now it won't take the CD key's that I have. It is asking for a 26 character CD key and I only have 16 character CD keys.

Heh, so what am I missing about this 16 character vs. 26 character solution? Inquiring minds want to know.

You put in the 16 character one, it gives you the ability to download it. On that screen is a 26 character one, thats the one you use when they ask you when it comes time to install.
