I need help deciphering the ODFW's fishing publication thingy...I jsut want to know fishing season schedule and can't seem to find it. My daughter doesn't need a tag but do I need a tag to help her? And the only stupid day tag I can find is $20 whereas last year it was like $7 so am I looking at the wrong tag? Bah...

In Oklahoma you only need a license if you are participating in the activity. Aka you have a line in the water.
I think some of the government funding for a lot of these programs is being dwindled down so wouldn't surprise me to see the cost of Tags and Licenses continue to rise over the next couple years.

Yeah, I have to have a license to "assist". I can bait hte hook and take the fish off but if I touch the pole ( cast or reel) for OR with her then I need a license. AND the price has more than doubled. I finally got ahold of someone to clarify all that.
Stupid, she's four. She likes to fish, letting her cast on her own is hazardous to the health of those around her.

Oregon 2011 Sport Fishing Regulations
3. All persons 14 years or older must have in possession a valid Oregon angling license to angle for or take or assist another in angling
for or taking of any fish for personal use, except:
• During “Free Fishing Weekend†(June 11-12, 2011) when no license or tag is required;
I would still call and check. Don't seem right that you would need a license to help your kids fish.

Well 10+ years of those tax breaks for the rich and destroying and rebuilding Iraq unnecessarily is just pushing the costs of crap down on us. Building permits, fees for anything and everything goes up to compensate for the money lost at the federal level. But oh well, I won't be one bit surprised if the stupid people in this country vote in a republican and protect the rich even further.
