Scifi MMO with a release date set sometime this year (my speculation would be holiday season). Info can be found on their website, but I am hoping it's similar to DAoC PvP..
- 3 Factions (like DAoC)
- Sanya Weathers (DAoC) on board with Pitchblack to develop this game
- Protected homeworld, Borders are contested, OWPvP location (DAoC)
The site went live back in June, their graphics engine acquired last year, and digging around on their forums I've discovered the game has been in the making even before they acquired the new engine and hired on Sanya...so I don't feel too skeptical about the 2011 release date
I figured this one is worth following. It may have some stiff competition against swtor and GW2, though.

Open world PVP: As your character advances and becomes more powerful he will venture into the fray and take on challenges where the other factions are the ultimate opponent.
Factions at War: World battles such as the ones that take place on Dominus pit faction against faction on a large scale.
Arenas: Always the place for one to test their mettle in a battle society.
Bounty Hunters: Become a famous (or infamous) Bounty Hunter, or gain renown by surviving with incredible bounties placed on your head.

Ooh I was wondering what project she was moving to when she posted about it on her blog a while back.
Interest is definitely piqued. Have they said if it's free to play or subscription?

I'm sure it will be a paid subscription. Register on their site, because when it gets closer to beta testing, they select random registered people.

One good thing is that it sounds like they're being very realistic about their expectations from sanya's posts. They're going after a specific audience and not trying to be a wow killer. That should help them cater to us quite well.
My only hope is that they encourage the open world faction pvp as the main (or only) pvp and ignore or minimize instanced pvp/battlegrounds. Those things murder community and faction unity by making the game entirely about small groups and blocking out the big picture war.

Agreed. I am also hoping this streamlined questing bs WoW introduced goes away to some degree. Defeats the purpose of a gaming community when you can just solo your way to a level cap doing simple quests. I think it just yields bad players who don't learn their class. Bring back group xp bonus, camp bonus, etc. Force people to learn their class and stand by their name. Your persona used to matter in MMOs. Dungeon Finders among other things yield too much anonymity.
