Almost deleted my Mythic folder today. |
The mouse hovered over the yes box for a minute, as I stared off and pondered the possible return some day. Then I thought about how little time I free time I have these days, and how ridiculous it would be to think I could even do anything in that game in under half an hour. And then I thought about something Kallveif said the other day, how it wouldn't be the same. How he tried coming back once, and it was just another game, not the community that we all shared in, where we laughed our asses off and cursed like George Carlin on a regular basis. So I actually clicked the Yes box. About halfway through the 11 gig deletion, I thought, oh crap, my screen shots!! Cancel Cancel Cancel!
Whew.
Well.
Maybe we'll delete that folder some other day. It's dormant on a backup harddrive, and it's not like I need the space right now....

I guess we just wait for DAOC 2 or something else along those lines. Seems like nothing but failures at PvP since then.

My account is off for the first time ever for more than a day or so. But it's just because i r poor atm. But I still have enough fun to keep at it. Although my actual play time is real low. You can still have fun if you can figure out where the action is and stuff. Which it can be a challenge.

I don't have as much time to play now either, so I stick to the BG's and usually have lots of fun...but the community is nothing like we used to have on Galahad

I think that the main reason I still play WoW is because I raid with my brother. If he still played DAoC (and not on my account), we'd probably be playing this.

It's not the same and I just don't see anything like it ever happening again.
The biggest thing was the players, at least on Galahad, weren't in a big goddam hurry. People would hang for hours, group for hours, bs for hours, sometimes even wait an hour for someone to get back from an afk. Now, if something doesn't happen in 2 minutes, it's a tragedy.
The game was sparse enough to let players to experiment. If nobody did anything in the frontiers, it would just sit there and be down time. As weird as that sounds, it's what made the game great. It put it in the player's hands. Now, that constitutes "lack of content."
