All of this comes down to reuptation. People with sane minds and reputations to lose would never post baseless slander like this, because it would mean people would start questioning their judgement and their honor. We already know Valgrim has neither. Valgrim's paranoid schizophrenia and his status as something of a server-wide train-wreck make him the perfect person to launch sweeping accusations against people. What has he got to lose?

I drive Cold Conscience about a third of the time (my specialty is Albion) so I take cheating accusations pretty personally, Valgrim. Don't even try that "I didn't mention you by name, you must be guilty" crap; the backhanded reference to our guild was there for the whole world to see. Your motives are as transparent as plexiglass, Valgrim. You lose constantly to us (and most everyone else), even when you get the jump, so in a pathetic effort to save your ego, you have to rationalize. "It was their overpowerdness," or "They are cheating." You never once entertain the notion that, perhaps, its your ineptness, Valgrim. Never once have I seen you display tactical judgement or any form of skill. Was chasing Thraeingr and I, who were duo, all the way up to the guards at Fensalir, only to die from them, a show of cleverness, or a pathetic attempt to farm people who you despise? (I had Thrae Ichor your group and then run like hell just because we knew it would anger you, you predictable sod) Ah, but we must have been cheating, my mistake. Like Thursday night when your 2 groups got the jump on us outside the MPK in Emain and we still beat you. Nah, had to have been <insert rationalization here>

Though, I should say, your motives in the here and now are transparent. Your overall scheme or driving force is a bit more muddied. You are a grown man living at your parent's home with no job, with a raging case of paranoid schizophrenia and suffering from alcoholism. If you weren't such a consistent jerk, I'd almost feel sorry enough for you to be willing to call the police out there to save you from yourself. But that would deprive the enter Percival community from the entertainment value of the internet equivalent of a man with tourette's on the radio.

*quote* "All Mythic will find is smart driving, good tactics and people who (omg! wtf!) pan the rear"-Mishi *quote*

Ahhh the times Ah remember panning a certain healer's rear...and cloakless to boot! Ohhh Was dat outloud?

Mouselook is wonderful when you have someone driving who knows his away around the frontier...

--HUSH now that bark was good for you, fiber and all that!--

I myself if not leading a pack will often use mouselook to pan sides and flanks...when running up or along hills adjust camera for proper angle up and down to sides etc...

I can do this easily and have experience doing that. I also cultivate and group young blades and hunters at every opportunity. Why? So I can get intelligence.

I get it (intelligence ye smuts ;P ) all the time. I pass what I deam is good on to alliance or CG.

The TGU's (tatical gank units) Like CC get the full scoop. Wankers might get general info. But all get info. Even groups and guilds who have folks I HATE, get the intelligence. Why? Realm first personal stuff later. Even after a personal falling out with a certain person, I kept my word and provided his alt with promised drops for free...

Warfield is me old GM, I'm the new GM of Champions. Warf is only interested n RVR right now, and he still holds to the Honor and Valor from Below code. If he was with cheaters, it'd be known.

Some folks spent so much of their life in DAOC in their own frontier that they know it intimately.

I have run realm defense, while loaded down with 600 pounds of asterite hinging in Hagall, handling tells from a Rogue group, a hunter group, main cg, asend (alliance). Without loosing a step.

Trick is cede to local leadership for the battles. while that's happening talk to my scouts and other roavers and organize it in my head. Pass out hints, orders, and listen.

Helps to be a damn fast typer, and able to read scrolling text at a fast pace. Having a good short term memory helps.

When one group's spotted ask for ID's first and numbers. From experience we can tell a group threat from names alone by now.

IF a group's seen I'll ask em to shadow and fade if too near. Scouts learn to avoid areas where there's high traffic because other stealthers will gather there, but they still watch them and pass on that info.

Sometimes folks get bad info. Happens.

Sometimes folks bait groups. Happens.

Sometimes you have more then one shadow.

Most know how to read a compass. Most have named known rally points and landmarks and can navigate by them with a few words...

"HIbs 7+pets Running to Vendhill SW Y towards OG valley with speed..."

another scout--

"Two hibbies flanking to GG side to hild valley- in trees no speed"

Add this in a fight near liches at end of GG valley hild side = One group to scout and bait your group to try to let resser and another rez the group you killed...

Tatics and response grows with tools you know and have experience with. Intelligence and knowing how long it takes for folks to get from place to place. Knowing agro ranges and what's agro and what's friendly helps too. You can think on a topside view and react.

To those on the ground who can only silently watch...well that means they see a group designed to be a Tatical gank unit (TGU) react to unseen information and move with a purpose before a reaction can occur by visible means.

Knowing that standing still for any time means any intelligence given on you is more and more solid, and that that will mean you are the hunted vs hunters.

I used to get hard data in HW all the time from an anon source, always on hibbies. When I figured out that the data was coming from areas faster than a stealther could possibly pass to me by phisical means (ie faster then he could get around solo- no one else ever grouped with him or even had ever seen him). I started to get suspicious. Even when the data was hard and solid = names numbers and eventually (last straw) RA status's...

I finally got a glimpse of the said rogue...man he flew while by solo...and he was GREY!!...when I saw he was a lvl 23 SB one dah and anon, the logs, and all info I had went to CSR's...he went on ignore...

He was someone who was cheating, and using others in a vendetta vs the hibbies, and I won't be part of cheating even second handed.

Most middies , egos aside, are all of the same vein. Honor and integrity foremost.

I've caught my share of ebayers, scammers, and cheaters and have a 7 of 8 success rate on their removal from our gaming environment.

Who and what, when where and how... not important.

What is important is to consider many factors.

And one thing to test for maphax, radar users etc.

Is the chain stealth unstealth tricks...with a stealthed observer...requires high ground, suspect teams, and many many high stealth individuals, and a TS capeable team to sweep area first to be sure there are no enemy stealthers about to make the test invalid.

But one test alone doesn't prove anything.

It's controled testing. Controlled area. Controlled situations. And frankly RVR areas are nearly impossible to set this up.

But you can try. But first you must control the area.

Consider that many middies have alts camped all over the frontier and most with stealth (since many feel that they are now gimped hard and only good for scouting). With a few seconds warning the can be up and scouting, once data's in, switch back and join a team to attack. Some have alts one two accounts, normally where they only had their bots for buffing. Since the mains on main account aren't viable- they make alts on the other account they can play also and have SCout-BOTS of all things...

Now this is a long post- of course.

And should effectively kill the thread.

*sighs* I just wish I could find a reason to respect Midgard... I mean this has nothing to do with the cheating accusations... but look at the typical Midgard answers... sheesh... bunch of idiots all gathered under one realm ?

But thats generalizing and I shouldn't do it. I know there ought to be some nice Mids, just that sadly they aren't very vocal

Thus why I keep on saying Albs are much nicer ! *huggles Grieffina, Patience and Sadra* (Alphabetic order !) *dances with Margie and tickles her ribs*

Just a question Affek, how are we supposed to respond to allegations that people we know are dishonest cheaters, and then statements that we're so overpowered. Basically, in many respects this was a blatant attack on my realm and I will defend my realm the way I defend its frontier.

Affek,

Perhaps tis adage may help you in your travels throughout life. "What you sow, so shall you reap."

Want respect from Midgard players. Try offerig them some respect yourself.

Gosh darn those honorless Midgard players who dislike unsubstantiated POS allegations of cheating! How dare they defend themselves?
