She’d questioned him playfully later that day about the missing pillow, and she’d failed to notice his hint of nervousness as he finally explained he’d done a bit of crafting and forgotten it at the riverbank. They’d been closer the last few days, and she smiled as she thought of how often he’d pulled her close for an unexpected kiss. Their lives were becoming more and more wonderful together with every passing day, and her thoughts drifted to the future often. Still no date had been set for the ceremony, but there was an unrushed feeling to it. They were happy to be together.
Lately, she’d even let her mind wander to the far future, and their hopes to have another child together. Predian wasn’t getting any younger, and neither was she for that matter. Leaning back against the wooden swing, she watched the river dance in its banks as she daydreamed about another child in their life. Caerenn’s loss hurt them both deeply, its what pulled them apart the first time. A frown crossed her brow as she thought about a possible future, another child. Another chance at loss, and what would that do to them this time?
They’d both grown, pushed through their fears and doubts, and come back together. Was it strong enough to live through such a deep and horrible pain again?
(just sorta an interlude.. really need Pred's next part first..)
