LOL...Thanks everyone! Just to follow up on some loose ends.
I finished the accident report. Here is a quick rundown of what happened this afternoon.
State Police showed up at my office, said one of our drivers was involved in a hit and run accident at the FastTrac gas station. No other real details.
Since we only have one driver left on the job I knew who it was. I tried calling him, no answer. I jumped in my truck and tried to track him down at his job site. As I drove up to the site, he finally called me back and I told him what was going on and to meet me at the gas station in question. By this time he was over an hour away from the original scene....
I drove over to the gas station to meet the trooper. Apparantly as my driver pulled the bucket truck out of the station he hit some pipes involved in the fire suppression system that sits in the canopy above the pumps. The pipe fell down and hit a car. My driver probably never even noticed it happening.
So, the station had damage and the car had damage. I spent some time chatting it up with the trooper and let him know that my sister was a state trooper. We later discovered that his partner was trained by my sister. This worked out well as I was able to keep the trooper from writing up my driver for leaving the scene of an accident!!
I went out and took pictures of the car, got statements from the driver and store manager, started my report to corporate and got info from everyone involved. Finally my guy showed up and we got his statement and I got to drag myself back to the office to finish my post and then spent what was left of the afternoon typing up the accident report to corporate.
Our accident policy requires employees to pay up to 500.00 towards the cost of preventable accidents. Hopefully the words I chose to use in my report will show that the station was at least partially responsible due to the fact that clearance signs were not posted (I actually got the trooper to give the store manager a verbal warning w/ regards to this...which I could then put into my report

)
I then drove my 90 miles home, ate dinner, finished my harry potter book, typed this and am now heading to bed.
Night all!!!
