Twas almost the dawn, the skies lightening in anticipation of the golden warmth and heat to come.
But for the rogues of night, twas time to rest, and inside the portal keep of Albion, the scout and assassin unfurled their bedrolls and prepared to sleep.
The scout's sharp eyes and prowess with bow had assured their mission a success. Carrington and his guard had been slain by their hand, and tomorrow would bring more opportunities to serve their guild and hunt again the enemy pair.
Khes was learning patience. And she was learning teamwork. And she couldn't help but continue to wonder, as she fell to slumber watching the scout, if he needed her...as much as she was starting to need him.

The monk bowed low in greeting, carefuly closing and puting away the bible. "I would not know, I have not been privy to news of the courts in a very long time. My order stays in seclusion for the most part, to better focus our minds on God." He crossed himself, and bowed his head briefly in prayer. "Our monastary lies in the Avalon Marsh," the monk said, spying Arguyle striding towards them, "There is a lovely, Green Willow, on the grounds that is believed to have sheltered a saint, though the records are sparse on precisely which."

"Carrington, you still do not look so good." the young Celt had finally made her way to the keep. " I was able to remove the poision and by Danu's grace mend much of the damage, but you still need to rest some."
Looking around him from his sick bed, Carrington saw Anghared sitting by his side, her wlof friend Keno Khan at her feet. She had brought some food and drink for when he awoke.
"I could not get Alonwy to come,"she said in a tone of saddnes mixed with disguest. "She used to love battle. But now......some honour -kin she turned out to be..."
She handed him some herbal tea, "Here drink this, it will help your insides heal faster. I mixed it with honey so it won't taste as bad.'
"Sence Alonwy has let you down, I offer what service I can to aid you. Could you use a druid here?" she smiled warmly knowing it was a silly question.

Kyle smiled slightly as he listened to the monks reply. He glanced over his shoulder and saw Arguyle headed toward the stairs.
He turned his gaze back onto the monk and made a simple motion with his hands. Within seconds the monk was surrounded by a half-dozen armsmen, blades drawn. Above them from the balconies more armsman and scouts took aim at the monk with crossbows and longbows.
" ou sir are under arrest under suspicion of conspiracy to assassinate Lord High General Arguyle MacFadden. Your ruse has been found out and resistance will result in your immediate death. Submit or die." said the Steward flatly.
Then, grin spreading wide across his face, Kyle added.
"Had you not claimed to be a monk you might have gained an audience. However, it is well known within Albion that there are no Avalonian Friars."

The monk raised a slim eyebrow. "I do not recall claiming to be a friar, simply a simple man of God." He held out his empty hands, "As you see, I carry no staff, nor am I trained at all in its use. However, I commend you in your desire to protect your lord. It shows that he is as good and true as the stories I have heard in my trip north from my monastary. As I see him there, I suggest the following, to put you at ease, and to show I am no threat." The monk removed a sealed scrollcase from his robes. Opening it, he removed the scroll from within, upended the case, and shook it hard, then slid his fingers deep with it. "There, you see, nothing in it, nothing to harm your lord. Just a message for him." He replaced the scroll, and the cap on the tube. Offering the resealed case to the crier he smiled benevolently, "Give this to him, I shall wait here for his reply."

Arguyle heard the commotion at the entrance as he was passing toward the stairway. He looked to see what was going on and saw a man in the vestments of a holy man being surrounded by guards. He could hear Kyle placing the man under arrest so he began moving toward the activities.
As he drew nearer something the man said finally registered. He had mentioned a Green Willow. Then it clicked.
"Tis alright Kyle! I know this man! Let him pass." said Arguyle as he eyed the man.
Kyle nodding toward his Lord moved to the side allowing the man entry to the hall.
Arguyle walked closer and smiled. Placing his hand on the man's shoulder he laughed.
"It has been a long time since I last saw you my old friend. Come. Join me for a drink by the fire." said the Paladin as he led the man up the stairs and to his office.
As the man entered Arguyle shoved him into the room and shut the door quickly behind him.
"Did Ayslyn send you?" whispered the Highlander.
