The Average Friar spec is 38 enhance range 44 staff range then rejuve then parry. I am not gonna sit here and calculate all the possibilities. Thats a pretty popular one though.
I like to be different. I can solo diamonds pretty easy, i can plvl pretty easy, i can rvr very well. That does not mean it has anything to do with my spec, i may use certain styles differently then other friars, i may spec my RA's differently. There are a lot of factors to how people choose to play thier character!
My original spec was actually gonna be a newer growing more popular one. 39 staff 18 rejuv 45 enhance and 21 or 23 parry.
My Spec is 39 staff 27 parry 7 rejuve 45 enhance. Hey look at that, it is somewhat similar to the one just above.
Now since this is a post for friars I will explain why, I am not a newb and i actually put a lot of thought into my spec and considered changing it hundreds of times!
Parry is great against DW and 2H users, it is decent vs S/S at times to. Evade is good for just about everything, specially when you evade arrows lol!
Now from experiance, evade and parry do not seem to be working togeather. I also have Mastery of parrying 2 and dodger 2. At the moment i evade like a mofo against some people, other times i parry like a mofo. It's a toss up. But all in all my defense is very very well balanced with my amount of parry + my evade + highest self dex/quick i can get. The two however become cool cause it is like having a 97% defense. PVP or PVE i rarely get hit if it is a frontal attack. Yes i get pa'ed then stuned by stealthers. I drop to half life 3 seconds before stuns wears off. But as most stealthers can agree, once i turn to them and fight back, i am one tough mother to drop. I hit hard, and my defense is far better then thier high evade. And yes PVE i can solo some purps without getting hit. I built this character to farm and rvr well!
Boy! does he ever suck at healing! Ask veritas, i can't heal for the life of me! So that is the draw back. I got hardly no groups at all cause people always wanted a rejuv friar and do not realize friars fight very well to. Hehe and we do fight well, i always am lead tank in my groups now that people see how i solo. Give me 6sec pbt and i can solo 80+, mind you it does not ALWAYS work, but yeah it is possible, pallies i have seen do it to as well as i am sure other classes can to!
Basically what i am getting to is i played around with my spec a lot. I honestly calculated all the possible factors to how he would perform. AND YES i got [TOS - Profanity] on by every friar and every other player "And i mean every" for the way i was gonna spec him. Well i tink i did just fine! I hardly rvr'ed at all this week and look at my rp's. I spent maybe 10 hours SOLOing and less then 1 hour in groups. I don't think i faired that bad. Yes i am not impressive by any means!
Friars are like the chanter phase. Only fun thing about friars is they can be and play so many different angles. You could go high enhance to get nice group resists followed by rejuv and actually be a great grouper. Or you can do the half rejuv/staff/enhance spec and be a very good friar to. EVERY friar i have really talked to stated to me he wished he had never respecced his parry down. Luckily i never spoke to other firars till after i was lvl 40 and couldn't respec even if i wanted to.
I will not ever consider changing my spec. But i am also really tired of having to tell people my damn spec. Tanks can solo diamonds at lvl 50 to. Just cause you see me doing cool things does not mean you need to spec the same as me. I can't say the other friar specces suck cause i never tryed them. I do know they would not be able to solo great in RvR. But maybe they don't wanna RvR.
TO MAKE IT OFFICIAL: I AM NOT responding to anyone else that asks what/how i specced my friar. I have had 20 freaking people make new friars in the past 2 days and ask me over and over what my spec is and how they should be speccing at lower lvls. I JUST WANNA PLAY THE GAME.. Pick your own damn friar spec. Wiegh out the good and bad of them and play with the character builder. If you need help with RA's that is one thing, but not speccing please.
My RA's will be like most friars. Mastery of pain 4 or 5 dodger 2 parrying 2 FA 2 IP and reflex attack. I have not even calculated it yet. I pretty much do it 1 ability at a time atm and change what needs to be changed accordingly.
GL to all you new friars. Sorry if i seem like a ass. But i wanted to be different, and i preffer to stay that way.

And no, I don't keep track, screen moves to fast, but i honestly do not think i have gotten more then 2 kill spams this week in RvR! I will always consider myself gimp till i break 50! (Maybe in a year from now)
