Well, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
My full name is Sean Franklin Barnes, I'm 17 and I live in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. I'm a senior in high school; I will graduate but I'm nothing special (2.5ish cumulative GPA).
I was born in Homestead, Florida on April 26th, 1989. I lived there for the next 14 and a half years, meeting many great friends along the way. I survived
Hurricane Andrew when I was three years old. Seeing the old photos and the newspaper clippings from that whole experience got me into one of my greatest hobbies, the weather. I would've made that into a career but i'm a complete and total n00b at math.
I was the teacher's pet throughout elementary and middle school. I always tried to get on the teacher's good side and do it quick. I normally got high marks in both grade levels, until of course, I hit high school. Almost all of the friends I had in middle school prefered not to talk to me anymore. I learned I was moving up north in August of '04 so I slacked off most of my 10th grade year, which came back and bit me in the ass today. We had to wait out two hurricanes (
Frances and
Jeanne, who both hit Port Saint Lucie dead center) before we could finally move up here Thanksgiving week '04. My dad was starting his own business and wanted to be near the center of the state.
I slowly got used to things up here on the "Treasure Coast". Noone can drive, I went through
another hurricane (
Wilma - 2 1/2 days without power, that was fun), and there is an alarming number of registered sexual offenders around here (I think there's 100+ within a 5 mile radius of my address). I got my first job ever up here, working on the Floor Staff of Rave Motion Pictures, a movie theatre. If you ever considered working at one, stop. It sucks so much.
I really fit in this year in my senior year of high school, as I opened up more and showed my "sense of humor", if I have one. I am looking for a job (not really, but yeah) and I have been accepted, and going to, the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne. I know a few ACFers live in that general vicinity
