Shouldn't you make your own before you try fixing other people's plugins?

Ironic name.
another good one would be "CartBeforeHorse"... considering it seems like that's what you're trying to do.
Start out by writing your own plugins first.. get familiar with the Decal system and how it all works, THEN work on updating an already existing plugin... otherwise, there is a large chance you'll end up making the updated plugin worse rather than better.
Also.. as was previously asked, how much programming experience do you have? which language do you plan on using?
Rules of Decal Development: http://jvarga.berkeley.edu/decal/rules.htm
Learn to program FIRST, THEN attempt to program with Decal. Don't attempt to learn to program by programming with Decal.

Burn BURN!
Good luck chicken. You won't get anything but 3rd degree burns here. And unless you go play the decal devs little "rush" game, you won't get into #acdev either.
Long live 40 year old+ hazers! Huzzah!

I'm not 40+ either.
and Hazing is a part of the process. If you want our help, you have to prove that you actually know enough that our help won't be useless. Plenty of people hang out in #acdev and have a perfectly good time and ask some pretty good questions. I even make it a point to help people out on occasion (even with lame questions). Just don't come in expecting us to teach you how to code. If you have specific questions that you've researched, but need clarification on, those are the type of questions that you can (fairly) safely ask in #acdev. The main key being that you've researched the question. You've attempted to locate the answer yourself. You don't come in with a lazy attitude expecting us to do everyone except write the plugin for you.
