actually, now that I read this post, I had this problem as well and it was my Viamontan xbower that crashed on login.


Logged in fine when created, but when I got the 5 free levels from the training grounds, I logged out to create a few other new toons. When I went to log him back in, crash...


Maybe being Viamont has something to do with it?


Odd thing was I made 4 new characters over two accounts, three of them Viamont. The one that crashed was using up the slot given by ToD. When recreated again, he never crashed. The other character using the ToD slot was Sho.

just on a lark... and if you don't mind...


you said you are using Eltank, if you look in the eltank folder, there is a folder named Characters... (program files/tank/characters) find and delete the saved info for the crashing Toon...


in the Registry, again, only if you are comfortable doing it, under HKey Local Machine, Software, decal Plugins, Eltank (I am at work and do not have the exact path) again, there will be a folder for the offending character (bunch of keys) delete the folder for that character...


both should be readded by Eltank, perhaps it's those that are currupt and causing you the issues...


personally, I have a couple of smerfs that are working just fine, but I am not sure about the XP on them (one is played, one is a Mule)

Checking the files you mention was the first thing I did Hamfest - I had a similar problem before (months and months ago) requiring such a "feat" with another plugin. Tank is off the hook on this instance.


I'll have time to play with your suggestion later today Drakier - will report back what I find.
